It is the majority everywhere except major cities outside the South -- meaning even in major cities in the South a majority own guns and/or support gun rights. You cannot shun that many people. I have lots of friends in Texas and Florida. Almost everyone of them either carries or has a gun in their car.

Because they've been brainwashed over the years.

Just because lots of people have guns, doesn't mean you can't persuade them to give them up. Start by bankrupting all gun lobbies, stifling their PR and media marketing, and spending huge sums on moving public opinion.

My H is a 2rd generation Floridians and nobody in his close family owns guns. His dad is a doctor and all the other doctors in the practice are also not gun owners. We know a lot of people without guns - university professors, doctors, everyone I've met tru the Florida Native Plant Society, and everyone involved in conservation work.

Enough with the drama. She doesn't need someone like you in her life.

Yes, it actually is. We don't need YOU and people like you in our lives or in our laws. You've killed enough people now.

Stop blaming republicans. They didn't kill those kids. This was a very troubled young man who didn't get the help he needed from his parents/family, school and community. Lets start there.

You don't understand how this works do you. There are lots of troubled young men, here, and alm over the world- but they kill when they have access to AR15s and other weapons.

You, and those like you, are the reason children are killed. He was the shooter, but he had enablers like people who vote for these things.

Everyplace has troubled young men. Every place does not have republican policies allowing them to buy assault rifles.

If they didn't buy them legally, they just would buy illegal ones or find another option. Guns are not the problem, people are.

You actually just wrote that guns are not the problem. You actually did. Disgusting beyond words.

No, you are right. It's horrible and stupid people who support guns do this. Legal and illegal. This gun was purchased legally.

It is clear by the posts here why we have a gun problem and murder problem in this country. Every @$$h0l% comes out of the woodwork defending guns. There are so many stupid, stupid people, arrogant and horrible, selfish and incredibly wrong people who support Republican policies and who have managed to get control of this, with people dying daily as a result.

If you don't fight it, it will be even worse. The last 6 years proved how serious this contingent of people are, this is no different than what happened in 1938 Germany, so
1. Vote with your money
2. Get active in local politics
3. Educate others
4. Never stop talking about it. Never.

Don't get complacent between publicized deaths, because they are counting on that.

Republicans don’t want universal health care either. So yeah, they’re to blame all around.

Republicans are a death cult. No food or assistance help for families, no healthcare, no gun control, no public education, daycare, or anything at all but lining their own wallet.

You’re ridiculous, just a generation ago boys kept their shotguns in their truck racks parked on school property. We didn’t have school shootings. You need to keep looking for the root of the problem, starting with the hatred in your heart towards people you love that might have different views and opinions than you.

This is such a stupid comment, I am embarrassed for you.

And then telling me how many kids were killed in Chicago by guns and how many car accidents there were yesterday. Same old nonsense. I just said we were done. I could not be friends with her anymore. She was shocked and sobbing.

Enough is enough. I can’t hear the lies anymore.

They were probably sobs of joy because she can’t stand listening to you and your one sided point of view on a daily basis. Friends don’t need to agree on everything in life, they just need to be respectful when they disagree. Sounds like you need work on the respect part, your friend will be just fine without you.

There is nothing to respect about the side that is okay with innocent people being slaughtered.

I did not use the word “enjoy.” That was all you. But a very telling slip.

I’m a DP but I get “enjoy” from watching the people with power to make changes— and not just to guns! To “troubled young men” getting access to mental health care, for example— and over and over again choosing to do nothing. While children die.
