Because they've been brainwashed over the years.

Just because lots of people have guns, doesn't mean you can't persuade them to give them up. Start by bankrupting all gun lobbies, stifling their PR and media marketing, and spending huge sums on moving public opinion. [/quote]

My H is a 2rd generation Floridians and nobody in his close family owns guns.  His dad is a doctor and all the other doctors in the practice are also not gun owners. We know a lot of people without guns - university professors,  doctors, everyone I've met tru the Florida Native Plant Society, and everyone involved in conservation work.[/quote]
