How many dates before sex?

Having sex should not be the factor that determines how the relationship evolves.

It’s not a serious relationship without sex.

The overwhelming majority of dates don't work out whether the person waits one date or 10 dates. OP should do what they are comfortable with. Having sex should not be the factor that determines how the relationship evolves. If it does, would you really want to be with that person anyway?

I mostly agree with this, but when someone treats sex as a reward for jumping through the appropriate number of hoops, it can be telling.

But having sex doesn't mean it is serious

Most women I've had sex with were on first date. The rest were 1-3 dates. Was married 21 years to a women I met and slept with the first night.

Not just college. I have a 40 year old friend who meets someone for coffee and ends up in bed with them. She had known one guy for two hours.

Two hours is a lot for a hookup. Generally it’s a lot quicker. The point of a hookup is to have sex.
If I’m dating someone, I’ll usually wait awhile. If it’s just a meetup for sex, why waste two hours drinking cofffee?

Make the sucker wait. He should treat you like a queen before he gets the prize. Because once you give it away, the power dynamic changes.

At this point, I would need to have at least a year of dating or an engagement ring before sex. If we're going backwards in time, my standards will as well.

Nah, you’re not a queen.

I only date men who’ve had vasectomies now. Sex on whatever date I want it.

Bravo. Wish this was more common with men nowadays.

That's me. Best thing I've ever done. I never anticipated how much women would love that about me. Highly recommended.

How do you know they had one? Isn’t it easy to lie about them?

We waited until after marriage. Dated for 10 months before getting married.

Yep it's true

This is a myth. There is no hook up culture. Young people are not having sex nor dating.

What? This is totally untrue. There is no monolith of Young People.
