The eldest son is in a goth band - really not that weird. Trent Reznor did weirder stuff in the 80s and 90s and now he has an Oscar.

The performace is at a "legit club" because money helps you buy a music career. Have known a few wealthy families who helped buy their kids credibility with connections. The kid still never made it music, but the kid got way more advantages than a typical teen trying to make it.

Yes, his goth band is pretty weird. Rolling on the floor screaming and acting out putting a gun to your head and having a post-mortem theme is kinda creepy.
