DCPS: Masks Optional the rest of the year

Incorrect, but yes, your cult’s brainwashing is strong.

Wow.

Why are people still arguing about this as if they can change it from this platform.

Vaccine and mask mandates are over with. Get on with your lives. Live it and be well.

Yup - kill all the three and four year olds, amirite?

Lol. Covid has fried your brain. The three year olds will be fine. If you think putting yours in a cotton mask does anything than ease your severe hypochondria, then feel free to put one on your kid.

Stop with this hyperbolic nonsense about children dying. It’s callous and gross and really makes light of the fact that some children do die of diseases each year that we as a society don’t care about (the flu or pneumonia).

Right - like you, I agree that the MSM/health authorities just lie about COVID. I mean, the idea that a five-year daughter first responders died of the virus- no one way that could happen- we are on the same consipiracy-forward boat, sis! https://www.freep.com/mosaic-story/news/local/detroit-is/2021/06/13/skylar-herbert-covid-19-detroit-michigan/7531510002/

Tragic and statistically irrelevant.

And this is what it all comes down to. We can't make people care about others. It's just not possible for some, clearly.

Unless you say the same thing about everyone who drives a car, you have really inconsistent views about risk and caring.

Cool story, bro.

We need to take the car keys away for old people driving on Conn avenue and the internet away from old people who don’t know how to post.

What language are you trying to speak? FFS.

For at least the vast majority of preschoolers, COVID is less dangerous than the flu. Masking them isn’t to protect them and anyone who still insists it is is lying. If COVID affected everyone like it affects 0-5 year olds we would never have implemented any measures at all. Kids have been masked to prevent spread to others the whole time. That’s a choice that was made. But to pretend that we can’t unmask now because of the 2-5s themselves? That’s lunacy and a lie. If you have an immunocompromised 2-5 and/or at risk family members living in your house? Put your kid in an N95. That is way more protective than pretend masks on all kids. My husband is an ER doctor and is more or less bathed in COVID all day and no COVID. N95 for the win.

So much lunacy and lying in one post, hard to know where to start. Masks even cotton ones assist in filtering out COVID and other particles, and assist in blocking transmission: https://journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mSphere.00637-20. Can't wait to see the receipts of your donations of N95 for kids who can't be vaccinated....still waiting, Mde. Hypocrite. Since you are so worried about the flu, I guess you also support mandatory flu vaccines and masking during flu season?

COVID is far more likely to result in pneumonia, hospitalization, and serious complications than the flu: https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/patient-safety-outcomes/covid-19-in-kids-tied-to-more-complications-than-flu.html. I get that you think that your kids b/c of your privilege are shielded from dying of COVID. But many parents a) get that their kids could be the unlucky ones; or b) unlike you, actually care about other people's kids.

So preschoolers should mask forever??? Because even if they can get vaccinated, doesn’t mean they won’t catch covid.

NP. You must be talking about your own post.

So all those people who claimed they were spreading doses out, or were waiting for more data were lying?

You all do realize that you’re arguing over something that has already been finalized?

No more masks.

No more vaccine mandates.

Both sides need to get on with your lives.
