How does that work? 50% elect to homeschool? |

I am very pro vaccine and have generally been angry that adult vaccine mandates have not been more widely embraced.
But, you can't enforce a vaccine mandate at schools when that many students don't comply. You just can't. |
There is no way they will be able to require a vaccine still under an EUA, sorry. And with recent news about lack of efficacy for the 5-11 age group, I am not convinced full approval is coming. Especially with mutations to the virus -- are they going to release an updated vaccine in the fall that might be more effective, as they do with the flu vaccine? And I'd also love some news on any long-term studies of getting an annual or biannual mRNA vaccine, especially in kids, because that's still a concern for me in terms of making Covid vaccines a regular event for kids like flu vaccines already are. If there are long term impacts on immune systems, I'd like to know what they are before I start giving my kid a shot or two every 6-12 months. I am super, super pro-vaccine and I have questions about a vaccine mandate for under-12s. Imagine what the opposition is like for people who are vaccine skeptics. Sorry, but no way DCPS is enforcing a mandate next year unless a bunch of other stuff lines up. |
Bet on the fact that DC isn't actually going to kick them out. Which is true. The lower the numbers are, the less enforceable this is. DC wants kids to get vaccinated, but it also wants them to be in school, and it doesn't want the publicity. I think DC blinks first here. |
They'll comply when it's mandatory. |
Lol you say this as 99% of DCUM have been hybrid or working from home since the pandemic began. How many of you have told your bosses the pandemic is over and asked to return to the office full-time?? |
Anti-science people like this need to be treated the same way as climate change deniers. |
After a business I built for 20 years was destroyed by the closures I switched careers and was back to work, interacting with the public in June, 2020 and never looked back. (I did enjoy when DCPS was closed as teachers were an easy tinder hookup demo throughout Fall 2020 and Spring 2021) |
School attendance is theoretically mandatory but half of high schoolers are chronically absent or truant. It's only mandatory if you actually do something about it. https://osse.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/osse/publication/attachments/2019-20%20Attendance%20Report.pdf |
| Was mandatory vaccination Robert White's bill? It was definitely the council. |
You're comparing apples and oranges. This pandemic has shown that there's no real need for your typical office worker to come into the office all the time. People who can't do their job effectively (such as teachers) or at all (such as grocery workers) are a different story. |
Well we’ve always known that there was no need for the worker at the typical DC dogsht nonprofit to have a job at all so if they can do make work from home instead of clogging up the roads for the rest of us that fine. And the “That’s Not My Jobs” in DC government working from home seems fine also. |
Your brain is jumbled and you don't write well. |
| Mandate vaccine that is in 12% effective !?!? No way !!!! |
