Because I sincerely don't understand why people continue to wear masks indoors in these circumstances. I'll just ask - why then?

Because cases are not low, OP. People are still dying in large numbers. The USA has the highest Covid mortality of ALL wealthy nations, because its people are emotionally immature, refuse delayed gratification, are bad at math and are somewhat lacking in moral fiber.

You can choose to reject all these things, and never experience anyone in your circle dying from Covid. You may never catch Covid. You may have had a very mild case and believe that all cases are mild.

I don't care. I will do the right thing. You will do the wrong thing, persuaded you're not a bad person. We will agree to disagree.

You think that me not wearing a mask in Safeway, with NO indication or reason to believe that I'm sick with covid (or anything), makes me a bad person? Really? You actually believe this?

It’s 2022 and you’re still saying ignorant crap like this? Sorry you’re not very bright.

At work where everyone is 3x vaccinated, and we have no Covid spread, I'm finished wearing a mask as of today.

+1 made me realize my elevator I enter every day there’s no telling what someone did or hacked up seconds before I enter. Think about it a tiny cube hundreds stand in every day. Yuck! Mask please.

Sorry but no. This is a perfect example of someone suffering from real pandemic PTSD. I will not make myself uncomfortable to support this.

No, the USA has the highest Covid mortality because they have some of the most unhealthy people in the world, with lots of obesity and related comorbidities. As a European who has spent considerable time during this pandemic in Europe, I can assure you that Europeans on average are no more enthusiastic about NPIs, no more willing to sacrifice or delay gratification than Americans. They might be better at math though, with the result that they have figured out early on that this virus is of much lower risk to young people and especially children, which has led them to place a greater priority on keeping their schools open, instead of placing the most draconian restrictions on kids, as the US continues to do.

I'm immunocompromised so my doctor encourages continued masking. I guess I'm used to it at this point; it doesn't bother me.

My mother is severely immunocompromised and I'm her main caregiver so I wear a mask and don't eat inside. Feel free to look at me and think whatever you'd like.

People don’t realize what happens to their immune systems when they’re not constantly exposed to low levels of germs. I think our next biggest health crisis will restrict because we’re sterilized our worlds. There have been numerous articles about how this is particularly harmful to young children.

I don’t wear a mask anywhere. If I feel that I am in a place that is overcrowded or saw a sick person, I follow up with an extra gargle and do a flush of my sinuses when I get home. THIS has been proven to decrease the chance of getting COVID and is likely beneficial for other irritants and viruses.

By the time you get home, your system has been exposed. This is absurd logic.

Unvaccinated is an excuse. Most people here are vaccinated. Vaccinated spread Covid. It is airborne.

Stop with the fake diagnosis to justify poor behavior.

Probably never. It’s not relevant to me.

Vaccinated spread it too just the same. Stop this nonsense. And also get out of this mindframe where people are blamed for this pandemic. Nobody is guilty here, we all did our part and it's impossible to control easily spread airborne infections. The worst brainwashing that really screwed up people's brains is all this propaganda that our behavior somehow is the only thing to control airborne viruses, so it became a behavioral experiment instead of focusing on treatments and better medical protocols and also looking at who is genetically more succeptible to this virus, as these are the people driving the deaths among the low risk categories. FFS, we are on year 3 now and we are still talking about shoddy masks as the panacea to end this that will never end.
