Full time housekeeper who will keep an eye on 12 year old afterschool

I guess I'm living in filth since I use a towel three times before washing it and only vacuum/mop the floors once a week. How are you getting things so dirty in your house that the floors need cleaning every day? Aren't you clean from the shower when you use the towel?

OP and spouse and 12 yr old are out of the house the majority of the day, no mention of a pet (shedding or otherwise), and presumably all 3 of them self sufficient people.

Your scenario is exactly the opposite.

Doesn’t matter!!! OP is cleaner and has higher standards than you! And probably has a bigger house. Lots of rich people have full time housekeepers who don’t even cook or do errands.

If I were employed as a housekeeper, babysitting is not a part of my job and I would not care how self sufficient the kid is because I do not want to be a babysitter. Job creep. A 12 year old should be able to get her own snack, do her homework, without any supervision. If she isn't then you have failed as a parent.

It’s not job creep if the responsibilities to keep an eye on the 12 yr old is stated clearly at interview and in the contract.

It doesn’t matter what you think, PP. Using the same towel twice grosses my husband out. There is no right or wrong, just personal preferences for cleanliness. And with two toddlers and two dogs and meals made from scratch, our kitchen floor does need to be washed daily.

Guys everyone can clean their house as much as they want. As long as they’re being ethical and legal, they can find the right housekeeper for them or not. This doesn’t have to be a fight! There’s literally no point! It’s totally fine for people to have different mopping schedules.
