Agreed.

So is long covid, but whatevs.

Long Covid might or might not even be a thing.

So, yeah, whatevs.

Yeah? Give it some time

I guess you feel the same about vaccine mandates then?

The Pifzer study for kids is ongoing for 24 months since it started. Long term effects might or might not be a thing, right? We’ll know in about 18 more months.

Definitely no vaccine mandates for kids until we have more data. Just like we need more data on long covid.

The comparisons you are suggesting are very different and I will not be sucked into your attempt at derailment.

Not at all.

The point is that we should be making decisions based on science and data.

Where is the long term data on long Covid in kids? There is none.

Where is the long term data on the Covid shot in 7 year olds? There is none.

Either you value the importance data or you don’t. You don’t get to pick and choose. I want our public health experts making decisions based on data. We all should want that. Not based on fear. And not based on what benefits Pfizer stockholders the most.

We have this: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.01.05.22268800v1 on long covid, if not kid specific.

My vaccinated kid got Covid over the break. Stuffy head for a day was the only symptom and only reason I tested. He wears a perforated mask at school. Offers zero protection, but keeps the Covid theater nazis at bay.

I recommend everyone just get Covid now so you can stop worrying. If you’re vaccinated of course. Im glad my family got it over with. Such a nonevent.

In the absence of good data, a good mask would be good compromise. I guarantee it is less traumatic than virtual school for all.

I have a feeling long Covid is a mental illness for most. I believe it does exist for people that had permanent lung/vascular damage, but I’m guessing psychosomatic for the vast majority. This is just based on the hysteria in a lot of posts. Some of these people are obviously not well in the head.

The fact that you used the term "hysteria" in 2022 says all I need to know about you.Your "feeling" is not scientifically sound.

And good luck getting kids to comply with using them.

oh we have them. I just want more of the classmates to have them. Most are still in cloth masks.

Focus on your own kids and their masks. Please let other parents manage their own child.

This. I’m fine with my kids in cloth masks. You do what works for you and let other parents do what works for them. TYVM

except your kid in the cloth mask contributes to spread

It's really too bad public health officials didn't speak more forcefully about the shortcomings of cloth masks earlier. At this point people are just tired and distrustful when what they were told was fine for nearly two years isn't anymore.

Well, anyone who isn't comfortable with the risk of getting Covid or the risk of the vaccine can just stay home until you have enough data to make your decision. But you're pretty much a fringe minority at this point and shouldn't be demanding virtual for all.

Do tell me, what other vaccines have produced long-term effects in kids, what were those effects, and what do you define as "long-term"

And the vast majority of them will be unvaccinated or elderly. Which is sad, but the former made their choice and the latter eventually die of something.

This thread is about MCPS. So we are talking about long Covid in kids. Again, no data available.

When you are talking health, you cannot just look at what is going on in MCPS. Surely an outbreak and this many people sick cannot be a good thing.
