| Is there any initiative to require these types of masks in school or getting a supply of these for the schools via pta, donations, etc.? Can the Biden funds be used for this? |
| Parents were handing them out at our Es this morning. I think parents donated them but might be PTA funds. |

Good luck in finding the childsize anywhere near the volume that would be needed.
And good luck getting kids to comply with using them. |
oh we have them. I just want more of the classmates to have them. Most are still in cloth masks. |
| I've tried 4 different kinds of kn95/etc masks and they just don't fit my kid's funny nose. Happy Mask has a much better fit for her, so that's what she will wear. Lower filtration, yes, but no gaps. So trying to find a single mask that fits all the kids well might not be the best move. |
| If you aren't going to give a child a new one every day, not sure what point there is. |
Focus on your own kids and their masks. Please let other parents manage their own child. |
At my high school there was a noticeable improvement in mask quality, looking at kids in the halls during passing periods. Lots of KN95/KF94, good fitting surgical masks, and hardly any cloths masks. |
Glad that your sample size of 3 is using them correctly. Not sure it means we can expand to 160,000. |
Is this true? I thought you could reuse them for a few days, as long as you aren't working in the ER or something. |
Not in micromanaging I’m in your business and know better than you MOCO. |
They say to reuse them as there wasn't enough availability. If you are using it an hour, sure use it again but after a day they get pretty gross. |
This, we buy very specific masks and I'd be really pissed if someone gave my child an untested KN95. |
Noone is saying they know better. But we do know some things that work - outdoor lunch, testing, better masks. The school system should provide them, like they do breakfast and lunch, but they cannot. So if a PTA is able to mobilize and hand out masks, what is the issue? Especially when (1) most schools are yellow (2) very few want virtual. |
| I work at an ES and was thrilled to see some kids in kn95 masks today! In fact, I’m thrilled to see a child wearing any mask that actually fits and covers their nose and mouth securely! Too many kids have masks that are falling off of their face, and the ones we are issued to hand out do not seem like they would protect anyone from anything. |
