I’m vaccinated, but my 14yo son is not. Not a chance we’ll be eating anywhere in DC. Either NoVa or MoCo for now (until MoCo passes the same nonsense).

With you. I am vaccinated, but do not support medical coercion, something that I was taught in all of my Medical Ethics classes. - MPH

It’s funny that you added MPH as if that gives greater weight to your opinion, rather than further undermining the reputation of the degree.

This degree has not been undermined by anyone with real Public Health credentials. Only those that play one on TV, like Fauci. He has done a real disservice as he politicized the COVID response and doubles down on coercion as a method for changing health behavior.

In Cook County IL it is being required for everyone 5 and up. I'm sure small business owners appreciate acting as the vaccine police and turning away paying customers. Local pizza joint, local dance studio, local bowling alley, local roller rink... All expected to examine vax cards and turn away children at the door. But Walmart, Target, the airlines.... No problems there. No vax required. This is about destroying small business.

How should we report any violations of the policy that we observe? And how can we verify that penalties and punishments were imposed on entities breaking the rules?

As if small businesses aren’t struggling enough that they need this headache on top of everything else.

If they choose to implement this policy, then that’s great for them. But mandating a vaccine passport is a terrible idea if you care about small businesses.

LOL! Awesome. I love where this is heading. Surely it will go well with people like this PP who are chomping at the bit to tattle on their friends and neighbors.

Good luck to you PP. You sound overcome with glee at the prospect of turning in some dirty, filthy, unvaccinated violators.

Whatever. It’s called doing one’s civic duty. Maybe if we had more “naming and shaming” we wouldn’t be in this predicament.

Are you going to check for needle marks? I am not entirely clear on how you plan to verify vaccination status of random individuals?

Go ahead and report to FBI anonymous tips. Not so much for the folks you know, but to close down the sellers. It’s anonymous, no excuse not to report.

It is not your civic duty and does nothing but make everything worse.

You should be ashamed of yourself PP.

Civic duty? Not a chance.

Are you also reporting your undocumented housecleaner who is ‘breaking the rules’? Or are you okay with that? Do you also report your kids’ nanny for not paying taxes on her cash salary?

I mean, if you want enforcement of vaccine passport rules, I would expect you feel the same about enforcement of all the other laws also.

Actually people breaking the rules make everything worse. WaPo had a great article on the author’s frustration with businesses not following the rules and how difficult it is to get the government to do anything about it. It’s a real problem for those of us who refuse to shove our head into the sand.

Did WaPo specify which rules it wants us to follow? Immigration rules? Zoning laws? Parking rules? Tax rules?

I mean, our government officials (at various levels) pretty much look the other way for lots of these violations. Not sure which ones exactly you want better enforcement on. Or is it just the Covid vaccine passports that you would deem worthy of extra enforcement.

Personally I’d be for increased endorsement of vaccine credentials if officials simultaneously cracked down on illegal ballot harvesting and voting with thorough ID checks. Sounds like a compromise maybe we can all get behind! But if you only care about my ID and vax card to sit in a restaurant but not to vote on the leader of the free world, eh hard pass. Then you’re just a pathetic ideologue.
