First dose required as of Jan. 15th, full vaccination as of Feb. 15th:
https://coronavirus.dc.gov/vaxdc 'bout damn time. |
Indeed! |
| Shameful it took this long, and while I support it, I'm not convinced at this point it will actually do much since current vaccines are pretty leaky as far as spread (but great at keeping people from clogging the hospitals). It is too bad the churches are exempt, especially in DC given the demographic (older minorities) that have been nearly the only ones dying since June. |
| Excellent. Now how do we report people with fake cards? Because I know a few and they piss me off. |
| Good |
| Finally! Although why it took so long is beyond me. |
|
So... after Omicron is done pummeling us, this law comes into effect? Well, I guess it's better than nothing... ***as long as it's continuously enforced until the next variant comes along***! |
| Pure theater. |
Omicron will be done by January 15? How exciting! |
| so under 12 can run unvax? |
At the rate it’s spreading? Possibly. I know at least a dozen people with it right now. |
+1 million As if things aren’t bad enough for DC businesses. This will just make it worse. |
|
I just heard this on WTOP. Wow. Required for everyone 12+. That’s ballsy.
I’m vaccinated, but my 14yo son is not. Not a chance we’ll be eating anywhere in DC. Either NoVa or MoCo for now (until MoCo passes the same nonsense). |
Nonsense? Seriously? What about the people who work in restaurants? They should have to serve people who are actively flouting public health guidance and common decency? |
Honestly, I'm relieved to hear this. We're all going to have to pitch in to get through this and the farther those that refuse to pull their weight are from my city the better. We also have serious reasons to be concerned for business owners, but public health needs to remain the higher priority. So... don't let the door hit you in the arse on your way out. |
