Succession--does it get better?

I tried Billions before this and had a hard time staying interested. But I like Succession.

I think it’s hysterical. Shivs husband is a great character. And the nephew is so funny and I love the character played by Kieran Caulking! It’s very dry humor. I also love the settings and seeing how the very wealthy live. AND I also love schitts creek! Hysterically funny and such loveable characters. Both very different shows.

Cringe.

Might use it after next argument with spouse!

Plus her personality is spoiled layabout dipshit who's never had a job in her life, yet we're to believe she's being groomed to become the CEO of $25bn media conglomerate?

1. I think she is sexy but whatever

2. I think the whole point is that she's not really being groomed. She's somehow in limbo. We were made to think it was her, but it's not her - and will it ever be her? She worked in politics for a while (I think?) but her brother seems to be the only one who actually has some vision for the business.

Lol. No. She looks like a slightly younger Meghan McCain. And her personality on the show is insufferable.

Anonymous wrote:The entire point of the show is that its supposed to be an indictment of billionaire families with inherited wealth and power. The kids clearly don't have the chops of the original patriarch/matriarch and instead are sidetracked by their navel gazing hobbies or petty inter-personal squabbles. Meanwhile, the public investor has billions wrapped around the fingers of these clowns.

In short, the wealthy elite are not sending their best or brightest once you get a generation or two removed from the founders. And that's what the US gets to look forward to as we enter late stage capitalism - a bunch of nepotistic choads who will likely destroy value.

I mean look at Trump - he's the President representing trust fund kids who had everything handed to them. Clearly not the best or brightest.

This is a cope. The filthy rich do not lose.

Billions is a terrible show. I watch it from time to time but it is really awful. I think Succession is also sort of dopey and repetitive but better than Billions for sure.

I despise anyone that is a dirty cheater. She makes me sick. So slimy.

The payoff is great though - it's probably one of my top 5 shows. Season 2 is so good.

I was one of the pps upthread that said I hated it after 1-2 episodes. We stuck it out and kept watching.

This pp was spot-on. It got good around ep. 4-5 and then we were hooked and bingeing it. Some of the characters I absolutely despised in first two episodes I started liking, and vice versa.

I was "meh" on season 1 until the very end, adored season 2, and find myself tuning out this season. Roman still gets the best lines: "take me to effing reason court, ok?"

^^I think I'm tuning out because Kendall is back to being such a caricature and Shiv has become a total see-you-next-tuesday. At this point I'm watching for Roman, Gerri, and Tom.

To be fair the character she plays is so unlikeable. I think that translates how you think of a person’s looks.

+1 Otherwise, she is a perfectly attractive woman. Looked beautiful in her gown in the latest ep.
