I find it most annoying when someone in the left lane matches the speed of the car in the right lane making it impossible for anyone to pass them for miles.

I was once pulled over in Texas for hanging out on the left lane. The road was empty. The officer told me the rule is the left lane is only used for passing. I thought how brilliant! The flow of traffic was great everyone passed and moved over. In Orlando the cops also enforce the left lane passing rules.

Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida drivers are good about this and it's much more efficient.

Although I got tailgated yesterday on the Beltway going 10 over... in the right lane, with plenty of space to the left. Tailgaters are just nuts.

Even if someone is parking in the left lane, you're an idiot if you don't leave following distance it's a basic safety measure.
