3-2-1 and in 3rd place.

They have certainly improved. Good to see for the DMV in general.

It's not really impressive if you look at the standing. Two good teams, 4 teams struggling and two average teams.

Only the 08 team was highlighted. Nobody mentioned the club as a whole.

Talking about ECNL Girls North Atlantic Conference 2021-22 08

https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/2373/conference-standings/9

Two strong teams(undefeated at this point 6-0-0 and 4-0-0)
Three average teams(including BSC) 3-2-1, 2-2-1 and 2-3-0
Four struggling teams(one win each except for the bottom team with 0 wins)

Do not see a lot of difference in the teams after you get past the top two. BSC has played or posted results from 6 games some of the others only posted 4 games. BSC and like 3 other teams could 3rd at the end of the season but it seems there are only 2 teams that can take 1st and 2nd. It is a weak region with 9 teams.

Arlington has now played 7 games not 1 or 2 but 7. Most of their age groups are not doing well. Especially 07 which was always the weak group along with 05. 07suffered even more when three of their best players left for Loudoun. Rumor is that they left because of poor coaching and bad club leadership.

Last weekend the Arlington 07 team lost to Courage 0-4 but the game should have been 0-10. I know two Courage families that were upset they even made the trip to play such a weak team. These Arligton girls think they can play high school and club. Club leadership should stop this. Too many injuries and it is making Arlington look even worse than they are. Well, the results speak for themself. 05 Arlington is in 11th place, 06 Arlington is in 5th place and 07 Arlington is in 9th place. in 07 Mclean and Loudoun are battling for the top place. BRYC is a travesty and Arlington is not much better.

Unless the kids are in private school VA high school soccer is played in the spring and shouldn't be much of factor right now.

Arlington has a lot of kids attending private school and playing soccer this fall. ALOT. Many are at schools like Visi, Holton, Saint Johns, O'Connell and others. It is a huge factor especially for a club that was not really that strong or deep to begin with. I would be pissed if I was a nonprivate school teammate. These kids prioritized high school soccer which is not as important as club soccer. Pick one. You can not play both. Well you can and then you get the scores that Arlington is getting.

Maybe they should have larger rosters

For them to have larger rosters they need to be able to attract good players. With their record who will want to play for them. McLean and Loudon have big rosters because kids want to play for winning teams. Arlington can barely get more than 15 girls on a team. When someone is hurt they pull from their lower teams and that further hurts the ECNL team as the lower team kids are not helpful. Arlington leadership should act like real leaders and tell girls that they need to choose high school or club for the fall season.

Arlington isn’t the only one with kids in private school. Most of the McLean girls are also in private school and playing HS soccer. Yet they seem to be doing fine.

No matter how poorly a given club is doing, they can always look to the bottom of the standings at any point and in any age group to find the BRYC ("The C is fo cellardwellers") and feel a little bit better about themselves.
Anonymous
McLean does a great job managing the players' workload. The coaches are all supportive of HS ball, and even multi-sport athletes. You don't have to choose as long as both club and HS coaches work together.

Anonymous wrote:How come the ECNL site has Arlington 06s playing CESA and SCUFC in January, while all the other Arlington age groups played them a couple weeks ago?

Cesa 06s had a covid case so Arlington decided the trip to SC wouldn’t be worth it for one game

Just like McLean and BRYC. Manipulating the schedule to avoid games they know they’re going to lose….and they will never make it up

For the last time -- you can not manipulate an ECNL schedule. They are at the mutual agreement of the clubs. They could put them whenever they wanted them.

More than half of every team is in private.

This is counter to what ECNL wants to promote. Also you would lose girls from a recruiting standpoint. Frankly there is nothing to be done on this front.

Arlington 08’s are crushing it. I doubt they will lose another games this year. They are making ECNL a joke or really just showing it for what it is…a water down league. A few top teams and everyone else who are just props….it’s like a few the Harlem Globetrotters and a bunch of the Washington Generals.
