No because the school has sent multiple messages explaining exactly how the car line is supposed to go, and no left turns are part of that plan.

Very dangerous because it stops all traffic in the lane. Ridiculous. They can’t continue this.

It was even backed up further than Saint Dunstan's church on the evening when the big rain storm hit. Then, cars started making independent U-turns on Kirby to get out of the slow down and backtrack on Kirby away from the school. But, this caused a problem for the opposing traffic with having seven and eight U-turns going on simultaneously in front of them. It was very scary and dangerous to watch.

And Kirby is a narrow road with not much side to it. There's no where for the parents to pull off the road to wait. There is a big gulley by the side of the road. It is treacherous.

Kirby road is a mess. I can't believe a cop can't direct traffic somehow. This situation is like waiting for an accident to happen.

+1 and it starts backing up past Chesterbrook's last entrance shortly after 3. This forces backup down Kirby with no berm!!! This is a half hour before the school dismisses.

My kids were at Chesterbrook ten + years ago and they tried and tried and tried to hire a crossing guard after the last one retired and no one applied. They tried for years. So they moved everyone to the buses. The police do not have the staff to supply a traffic cop there. We are lucky to get the one at Longfellow.

Again, the school has no authority over public roads.

Why am I not surprised the principal of an FCPS school doesn’t know that?

Someone should forward her message to the relevant local authority. She needs a polite “stay in your lane” reminder.

I guess they didn’t try hard enough. That happens when you are unwilling to pay more than peanuts for a crap job.

Right, I know what the PTA budget has been historically. They definitely could have pitched in to increase that salary.

It’s an off-duty cop working OT. The school board could pay for one for Chesterbrook same as Longfellow.

This is likely an equity issue.

If the SB pays for a crossing guard at HHI schools only and not for Title One schools…

Also at a HHI ES in FC fairly recently, the crossing guard was struck and injured by a parent’s vehicle en route to KNR line.
