I have had so many fancy cakes...wegmans is still my favorite.

I have been to so many parties where they have a super impressive expensive cake. Problem is they have all tasted 1. Like nothing at all-literally flavorless. 2. Tasted like pure sugar 3. Have been so dry they are painful to eat.

We have ordered fancy cakes too. We ordered wegmans a few times and everyone asked us where the cake is from. It's just so good.

We always get either vanilla with cannoli filling or vanilla with chocolate pudding filling. Never tried the other flavors. Also we always get whip cream-the buttercream is gross. I don't just think buttercream is gross there-I think it's gross in general.

Anyone else like a grocery store cake better than fancy cakes? Which one? And what flavors?!

Love Wegmans with the fresh strawberry filling

Went to a birthday party and the frosting tasted like a combo of marshmallow fluff and whip cream. They said it was from Safeway.

I got a “smash cake” from Harris Teeter for my son and box mix would have been better. We like Heidelberg Patty Shop in Arlington. It’s not fancy, but it’s very good. We love Choc mousse cake and Steinway cake.

They are really good!

Try one with a custard layer, OP; you will not be disappointed!

I've never tried wegman's cake and now I'm intrigued! Can I buy just a slice to try it? Or a cupcake version?

I have a couple occasions coming up where I need big cakes.

No they have slices of their special cakes (carrot, cheesecake etc...) but not for just like what a sheet cake would be. That being said the smallest version is like $12. They need 24 hours though.

I have thought that most grocery store cake is blah....but wegmans cake is delicious!

That's how I feel about Publix cakes. I've had cakes from some of the best bakeries anywhere. And I'm a good baker. But Publix cakes are amazing. Wegmans is a close second.

I remember people telling me how great Giants cakes were so I got one once and it was disgusting. Maybe I just had a dud?

Wegmans ultimate chocolate is amazing. And chocolate is not even my favorite type of cake.

Which did you get? They have a large variety, and some kinds are very good and some bad IMO.
