Travel Soccer teams around NOVA let's discuss

Why are you hating on Spirit? Does your daughter play for them? You seem to be following their ever move....or are you waiting for their demise so you can justify your emotions.

Now

Nobody cares what the CCL clubs do. Not a single one of them has girls DA or ECNL. None. Zero. Nada. I guess US soccer doesn't care about them as much as you do.

Last point...those clubs you named..they put in for DA and got turned down. So instead of knocking Spirit..maybe you should knock the poor leadership of said clubs. Just a thought...but then again...why on earth would the 2 largest clubs in VA combine and still get turned down...hummm...I know...no history of developing YNT caliber players...but never mind that.

Maybe you should check out McLean (ECNL & CCL) and Maryland United (ECNL & CCL)...ooops....

And yes, US Soccer only cares about the DA teams.

Actually, you are 100% wrong --- the clubs I mentioned chose not to the partner with the Spirit.

let's try this again.

Those clubs you mentioned combined together and put in a bid to get Girls DA and got turned down by US soccer..yes?

BRYC took ECNL over Spirit DA so they can remain in complete control..yes?

The other clubs you mentioned ran in like a bunch of hobo peasants with demands to have some control. Spirit told them to kick rocks small fries..yes?

Now you can tell me I'm 100 percent wrong...go

Actually, you're only 66.6% wrong

Please explain to me how partnering with the Reston Soccer Association instead of any of those other clubs is better for the Spirit.
We talkin' 'bout Reston. Reston.

Does the partner club matter? No

History lesson:
Terry Foley founded FCV and was a founding member of ECNL. The man had a club with zero fields. How did his club survive..he partnered with FYPC...kids came from all around to play in the new top national league. He then went to SYA and then CYA and used their field...many years later he got Evergreen and no longer needed a partner club for fields You see..partnering is just about resources...the true resource..the players..will come from a wide area...eventually.

Fair enough, but he has also had a unique product for that area of Northern Virginia, and his sole focus was the development of the club --- it wasn't an afterthought or an aside from his primary business. Plus, if Reston was such a no-brainer, they would have been first on the list of clubs to partner with.

The players will come if the environment is conducive to their development and includes quality coaching and a well run program --- if not there are alternatives.

We'll see if that happens.

Do you know how many fields FC Virginia owns? ZERO
Do you know who attracts top area talent? FCV
Do you know why? ECNL

It's that simple. Top talent want to play in top league.

Doesn't matter what the league is called or the name of the club.

Why did Loudoun partner with FCV after failing to get their own DA and later failing to partner with Spirit? Because they knew their best kids were leaving for FCV. End of story.

Players Don't make decisions...

DA is a unique product. There are three DAs serving the entire state of Virginia. All three happen to be in NOVA...where the history of player productivity on the female side is high.

NOVA is now serving 3 DA and 2 ECNL on the girls side. Some people say it's to much and clubs should combine. I disagree. The more kids playing top level soccer increases the pool of talent. People that want to combine into Maga clubs only care about wins.

It's all about fields and not much more. Same with the VDA partnerships as well as FCV's partners. For the other club they get to put a DA sticker on their website and that fools parents into thinking they are in a "DA club".

Loudoun was able to cut some control in their deal with FCV, control that Spirit was not going to relinquish. Spirit probably learned to keep control from their experience with their Super Y partners who tend to screw things up.

Why do you keep saying this crap when everyone has pointed out that the benefits are a lot more than that?

If you want to argue that it's still too expensive, fine. You can probably make a decent argument there. But if you keep going on about "an autographed picture with Mallory Pugh," you're just demonstrating your ignorance.
