I know this is out of nowhere since it's been closed for years, but I can't help but think how much I miss Loehmann's. Does anyone have any recommendations for similar stores in the area? I'm not a huge fan of Nordstrom Rack bc it just feels like they are selling their own brands at a discount. One thing I loved about Loehmann's was the brand variety. I also am not a huge fan of Ross/TJ Maxx bc it they are never organized/clean. |
Marshall’s in Rockville is clean. |
There is no Loehmann's substitute. |
So where have you been shopping? Just paying more at regularly priced stores? |
I would say Last Call or Saks Off Fifth for the higher end at Loehmann's, and Nordstrom Rack for the rest. Too bad you don't like Norstrom Rack, though. |
Try the TJ Maxx in Mazza Gallerie. |
If you want to go up to NY, I recommend Century 21. |
I, too, mourn the loss of Loehmanns. I have found no substitute. They had a great selection of petites, and now I'm just stuck with the same old same old at Ann Taylor. |
Also, the tj maxx Georgetown, which is a little better. |
I LOOOVVVEEEE Century 21! |
I miss Loehmann's too. Sad thing is that I haven't replaced it. I barely buy clothes anymore and when I do it's for an occasion so I just go to Nordstrom. |
I used to be a devoted Loehmann's shopper. There doesn't seem to be a good substitute, but I do buy most of my work clothes at Saks off Fifth now. |
+1. I still have scarves I bought many years ago at Loehmann's. Now I go to Saks off 5th or I just watch the sales at Nordstrom and Neimans. |
Loehmann's was amazing. I got so many gorgeous outfits on my shoestring budget as a young professional. I'll have to check out Century 21 one of these days.

I really miss Loehmann's, too. I have this amazing skirt I got there once for $15 ($15!!! I think it was originally $150). Every time I wear it, I get compliments on how gorgeous it is. Sigh.
I haven't found a replacement, either. Thankfully I still have that skirt! |
