Private payrolls added 317,000, missing the expectation of 450,000. Government workers tumbled by 123,000, led by the loss of 144,000 government education jobs.

As markets are digesting the unexpected results, stocks are in chaos and the dollar and bond yields move lower.

Data was gathered mid-September when cases/hospitalizations were much worse than now. I expect this figure to be adjusted upwards > 100,000 next month - just like August’s numbers just were in this report.

As I predicted, this number was adjusted way up in today’s report.

Jobs added in October: 531,000, beating the 450,000 estimate
Unemployment down to 4.6%
Revised jobs added in September: 312,000, up from 194,000

It’s unfortunate how this news will be met with crickets on this site.

Even if it is, this administration created the conditions and infrastructure to get shots into arms, even with 30% of the public kicking and screaming about it, to get things back on track.

+1 It’s the Democrats who make the economy grow - AND they actually want everyone to get in on the action, unlike how the GOP only wants the billionaires to get richer and acts accordingly.

Yup, economy is booming. The Dems just don’t know how to message because for the far left if there is even 1 poor person then things are not good. It’s a weird place the party has gone on messaging.

We are averaging 580k+ jobs a month this year, that is off the charts! And there are labor shortages on top of it or it would be even better, the messaging is just terrible.

This isn’t new, it was also a problem in 2012.
