Yes this! Kobe would only fly with this particular pilot. My cousin is a pilot and had a lot to say about the pilot's mistakes. The situation was definitely a confluence of bad decisions, policies and bad, foggy weather. I think in the end though most of the blame will fall on the company. The pilot was trained to fly using just the instruments, which would've gotten them there safely. However the company was not certified to fly using just instruments, so even though the pilot was trained to do so he would not have been able to and had to rely on his own visual sight to get to the destination. Normally its easy because its normally sunny weather - so it is just a mess and I pray that the passengers were unaware of what was happening.

I would guess that this tragedy will influence the decisions of pilots of helicopters and also airplanes for many years to come, so at least there's that.

I think the reality of being the wife of a famous athlete is pretty different than most other lives.

While I am sure that there are *some* famous athletes who never stray, it seems that most do and similar to musicians and their roadies / groupies...infidelity is almost expected and accepted. It is usually kept on the down low as much as possible and likely each spouse has a limit somewhere. It really doesn't seem to be frowned upon the same way it would outside of those circles. It is almost like it is part and parcel of the fame (unless someone consciously opts out).

She went to great lengths to find his schedule and what hotels he was staying at and would drive hours to try and meet him and get to his room - all unsuccessful. She knew famous people sometimes stayed at the lodge where she wanted to work - she was a pre social media influencer wanna be. She tried out for American Idol and tried to meet famous people. I am not saying that any of that means someone can't still be assaulted but there was a lot of leg work on her part that had been done before she lucked out that day at work and went to Kobe's room. Assault or not, I think this influencer mindset was why she bragged about it to people after the fact. It didn't go the way she had expected but it was still a claim to fame.
