My cousin is a pilot and had a lot to say about the pilot's mistakes. The situation was definitely a confluence of bad decisions, policies and bad, foggy weather. I think in the end though most of the blame will fall on the company. The pilot was trained to fly using just the instruments, which would've gotten them there safely. However the company was not certified to fly using just instruments, so even though the pilot was trained to do so he would not have been able to and had to rely on his own visual sight to get to the destination. Normally its easy because its normally sunny weather - so it is just a mess and I pray that the passengers were unaware of what was happening. [/quote]
