If Kobe were a white guy and died the way he did, his rape case would’ve been dismissed by everyone and it would’ve not even been mentioned. That’s how it is in America. If you’re black and you do one thing, even if you’re not convicted, you die guilty as a bad person, no matter what.

White people will claim it has nothing to do with race, when it reality it has everything to do with race.

I tell you what...
If you really wanna blow these folks minds tell em to consider this...
If Kobe's ACCUSER was black woman, then his rape case TRULY would’ve been dismissed - I'm talking about even by investigating authorities.
He never would've been charged if it was a black woman in Colorado or a black woman anywhere for that matter making the claim.
That's the reality of race...black women get NO RESPECT.
(see: R. Kelly - if it was little white girls you KNOW they wouldn't have locked him up a long time ago.)

Facts. Remember that black college girl who got raped by those white guys a few years ago and the media were going after HER for being promiscuous. We live in a sham society.

Or the white girl who accused a black man of rape when it was consensual?

It is being dismissed by 99% of the human race because he didn't rape anyone. Of course there are hateful people, trolls, SJW types, etc, who will try to get some attention out of it and make themselves feel good.

Pretty much. Bored beckys who have nothing else going in their life and spend their free time hating on a dead man while totally being ok with creeps like Harvey Weinstein and Stephen Collins (7th heaven dad who molested several girls up until 1995) who are roaming the world free. For those men, it’s “just a mistake” but for Kobe, he should go down as a rapist based even though it’s unconvicted.

Show me one person who thinks Harvey Weinstein or Stephen Collins should go free. Just one.

They ARE free. That’s the issue. Stephen Collins literally went on ABC in an interview and that was the end of it. 7th heaven still airs currently. Meanwhile, Cosby is locked up and they have taken Cosby off syndication.

That tells you a lot. If you think race isn’t a factor, you’re being obtusely ignorant.

I think you've lost the plot a bit here. Kobe also was walking around free. I wholeheartedly agree that black men are always held to a higher standard than white men. But to state that Weinstein, Epstein or even Polanski or Woody Allen have wholly escaped consequences for their deplorable behavior is untrue.

Kobe wasn’t convicted. They settled and she walked away with money. He never went on to commit anything like that again. In fact he stayed out of the papers. Woody Allen is walking around like he did nothing. No charges. Still making movies. How long did it take to finally bring down the others? How many women had to be hurt before the others were even mentioned?

So they both got off scott-free, because they are rich and famous. Isn’t that the problem?

+1
Rich and focus get away with abusing women. This has to stop.

So you were there? You know for a fact he raped a woman? You should’ve went to the police.

This standard would dismiss 99% of rape charges.

Gosh, I really wish that you could’ve taken this whole Conversation somewhere else. It’s extremely insensitive to the majority of people who enter this thread who are not entering to hear all of this negativity. Read the room people. You could’ve started another thread. I hope the minute you lose a love one that people don’t come out the woodworks talking about all of the negative and wrong things he/she has done. Because even if they were true, they’re a time and place For everything....and you know what...this thread wasn’t it.

The Kobe lovers spent so much time trying to shut down anything negative that it took over the entire thread. I don't know why they were so obsessed with silencing other posters. I was most interested in the discussion of what might have prompted the crash (weather, pilot error) but that got lost in the fray as well.

So it’s the fault of the people who wanted a place to mourn his death. Not the fault of the posters who think it is absolutely necessary to scream rape after he died? Got it. Carry on.

It certainly can dismiss this one. Especially since he wasn’t convicted and she settled.

Rough sex, BDSM, bondage, swinging, multiple.partned - people can enjoy all of that as long as there is consent. No one actually gets injured to the extent that they are bleeding out from the vagina. Even bdsm has safe words. He was basically a criminal who did not get legally charged. And the continued adultery? Venessa stuck with him for her kids.
He was a great dad to any daughter or youngster who wanted to play basketball. He was not a great example to his daughters about what to look for in a spouse.

You think one sided and that sucks for you. You think to comfort yourself and that’s a shame. He was basically an athlete who got accused of rape buy a woman who chose money over court. He was never convicted. He wasn’t a criminal. Unless you were in that room watching you cannot call him a rapist. Rape apologists doesn’t work here as the rape was never proven nor was he convicted. Don’t throw around words in an effort to make yourself feel better.

I don't have to comfort myself or feel better. I am alive. I have not been raped. I am not married to a rapist.
Venessa was not a Lorena Bobbitt. As I said, he lived his life without consequences.

Oh you are definitely comforting yourself from your ignorance.

Pp here, I don’t think we should be blaming it on the lovers but rather on the people who chose to be negative. I would’ve loved to come back to the thread to discuss the accident as well. But....shoulder shrugs.

I’m not reading 50 pages but to even bring up the “rape” case is pathetic. As a sexual assault survivor, it maddens me that we are supposed to believe all women regardless of the facts that come out. I don’t know any woman that is going to have for sexual sex within 24 hours AFTER being raped (wearing the same underwear) and then go get examined while still wearing the same underwear. This woman who ended up pregnant (what like 6 weeks later), was an opportunist and makes it harder to believe true victims. Same with the Duke Lacrosse “victim”. Kobe was an adulterer, but he certainly didn’t rape that woman and for that to be a part of his story days after his death with his daughter is very sad.

She even made a rap about it

Ok so back to Kobe’s death- do you think they’ll have a public funeral?

Me too. I've been reading the pprune.org forum instead because that is what they are actually talking about. I had to look up a ton of acronyms but I eventually could understand them.

I'm sure they will have both something private and something public. I imagine they will have the public memorial at the Staples Center. It holds 22k people. I've also heard the USC Colliseum mentioned as well.

I think the very sad major story now is not about Kobe but about the pilot and his bad judgement and the company he worked for possibly being also somewhat to blame. Very very sad for everybody involved. It will not soon be "over" and may play out in the courts for years to come.
