Granted, at the end of the line with DD but she has gotten herself recruited to this point, not the club and as long as no one is trashing her from FVU technical staff there is little harm these clubs can really do. Finished in 6th and still traveling Seattle to be showcased during recruitment window. FVU has served their purpose, check! Sky certainly not falling, check!

FVU still trains 3 time a week for 1:15 in a small field shared with Vienna?

This is their Achilles heel. Facilities.

2 teams train on an 11 v 11 field. The have shared Quantum with Vienna approximately five times that I can remember and it was only due to rescheduled or relocated one offs. If you are going to troll at least get your lies straight.

Consistent field access in Fairfax County is a challenge for all clubs due to permit limits, high demand, and county scheduling rules. That translates to practice schedules that look limited compared to areas with more dedicated turf complexes or less competition for space.

Union's practice schedule is shorter and less frequent when compared to its competition, but it's simply the reality of field availability within the county’s permitting framework.

It sounds like a reasonable explanation until you realize how much Arlington practices over the winter. Snow or no snow.

It’s likely that Arlington Soccer has worked / lobbied the Arlington County Board and built a good relationship with them to invest in soccer in the county. But they are the only high profile soccer club in the county so they could do that. FVU started as McLean and Vienna and BRYC — too many players to go lobby the Fairfax County Board in any unified way for FVU to secure fields and priority. And then when they lost McLean fields well… The facilities are not their fault but what kid would actively chose their facilities over the rival clubs who have greater access? Practicing 4 times a week for 1.5 hours adds up over time over a 3 times a week for 1.15 hours. You get better at soccer by playing more.

Arlington practices 4 times a week for 1.5 hours each? Tell us more.

FVU will be fine.
i mean a bunch of 10s did just that. Doing just fine thus far.

22nd person on a high visibility roster getting play time? Whats wrong with that?

Reading these comments on FVU is hilarious. Its so obvious that a couple of angry parents who's kids were rejected by FVU at some point have an agenda to try to discredit the club, the teams, coaches and FVU families. It's sad really. Just move on. As many have responded FVU is just fine and will be just fine. We are happy as is everybody on DC's team.

Long email but good move for GA. Any team that loses a specific amount of games by more than 6-0 needs to be demoted until they get their stuff right.

You can stay happy with FVU and their 3x a week “training” sessions m a small field like quantum or Marshall Aux. Have fun. See you at the playoffs.

So FVU only practices 3x a week due to lack of field space?

Yes, and they rely on the County to clear fields. Missed 2 weeks of practice due to snowcrete.

with all of that my dd’s team still finished in the middle of the pack. I will always have a what if thought on how the season would have turned out with the proper facilities and attention. The girls are talented but the foundation and preparation limited their trajectory. Now BY/SY and ids will leave a completely different team.

The satire and trolling are just too much alike these days.
