They take the individual player seriously based on the players performance Not their label There are many European Pro Players who were playing down as late as U18 Though, in several European countries, they actually have International Youth 'B' teams for only biobanded players Kevin De Bruyne was on one and many others |
Do you like being called a Moron? You think the colleges are two daft to know what the graduation year is for the few players they're trying to recruit? You do know there's only a few spaces in each recruiting year. Colleges don't need 15 Freshman on their soccer roster. |
Which makes it even more difficult to be recruited. Which is just another reason players playing down a grade will get ignored. |
Completely makes sense. Many MLSN coaches hold the keys to the kingdom for players unfortunately. At least with boys/mens soccer talent usually makes itself known and trumps the coaching buddy system. Interesting that in other countries players playing down get put on the B team thats their age not the A team a age/level down. |
| How the hell is this thread 50 pages long? |
They do put them on an age lower down for biobanding It's at the older ages they have specific International teams and competitions for just late developers It is not "lower level" quality and skills. It is smaller players. |
I didnt mean to infer lower level quality. I was just calling out that when things become serious biobanders no longer play down on A teams. They have their own league likely with players close to their age. |
You rambled in an inaccurate direction and ignored the fact that you can't overcome the logistics involved with leagues and teams trying to run a convoluted GY system across state lines. |
False. |
You lost me in the middle of the first sentence. Too much rambling. |
Simpleton version for you, your GY system isn't sound. |
They do bioband past U16, in limited cases. Some clubs bioband permanently until the player reaches the U18/U19 cohort. That is the case for the player from FC Delco going to U of Delaware next year for soccer. He is an '07 and has always played '08 since like U14. And true academies even bioband U19s to their U18s. There was a discussion earlier about the Sullivan twins (Cavan's older brothers) biobanding to the Union U18 this season. They participated as U18s in a preseason tournament in Germany. |
The Crazy August guy decided to make it his new home and that blew up a nice thread about what clubs are actually doing now. Bummer. |
There's been some good info shared. You have a couple of top-tier clubs doing detailed FAQs, for example: https://arlingtonsoccer.com/programs/travel/age-group-transition https://ourcitysc.com/docs/age_group_changes.pdf |
