Hope tonights better

I’m hearing “cringy” all over tik tok. Of course, nothing else, just “cringy”. Would you care to elaborate on what made it “cringy”?

It's what politicians do.

No, he actually is universally loved by most people — in the old days, even the republicans liked him a lot. He’s a likeable guy. But that doesn’t mean he’s the right person for the job at this moment. That’s not hard to understand if you’re not a narcissist. It’s Trump and his kind that think you must be rude or die all the time or it’s a major betrayal.

It's what politicians do.

Correction, it is what public servants do.

The reason these folks cannot grasp that people can like President Biden and still think he isn't the correct candidate for 2024 is because they fundamentally cannot understand what public service is. Fortunately, President Biden is a true public servant and did what he felt was best for the country by withdrawing from the race. He knows that our democracy is at stake. He will go down in history as a fantastic president for a lot of his accomplishments - but stepping aside was the biggest of them all.

The positivity was so refreshing!

Agree and it wasn't weird at all.... I actually like seeing people's faces move and not all of the women look exactly like stepford housewives

Trump is a homegrown menace.

Just a tip that C-SPAN is a great place to watch the DNC. All of the networks have panels involved and they feel like they have to tell us "what it all means." Mostly those panels don't add a lot of value.

+1. Honestly, prioritizing the defeat of Trump over discussion of specific policies makes a lot of sense. He tried to overthrow our government, has promised to pardon those who participated in his insurrection, and is an existential threat to our democracy. Given that, details of tax breaks and whatnot are very much secondary. If the Republicans had nominated someone who was at least committed to preserving our democracy, we would have the luxury of debating the finer points of domestic energy production and whatnot.

I thought that too, I wonder if people had second thoughts. His outstanding speech just confirmed he is capable, was capable of running our country, putting rumors to rest that his cabinet was covering up for him. Maybe he just had a bad night.

Last night was emotional for me, moved by seeing people proudly standing together; this is really about rescuing democracy.

I felt alseep on the couch

Trump gave a better speech. He knows how to keep me up.

Why so desperate, then? Don't you have better things to do than arguing with urban moms?

If you’re still currently supporting the Republican who isn’t in any condition to be president for four more years, you’re a dimwit.

You do know that many of us aren’t voting this year, right? We have told you this over and over.

Sick of hearing about people not voting. Grow up and get responsible or get out off this board and zip it. Shame on you.

Just ignore the trolls. They would not be here if they are not scared of last night.

What struck me is how much Biden loves his family and how much they love him. Compare that to the Trump family, and the difference could not be more striking. Maybe if Fred Trump had hugged Donald he wouldn't have turned out the way he did.

It.Is.Packed. Even the nose bleed seats.

I usually don't care for convention, but this one has so much energy. It is like a rock festival.
