Seeing RWNJ accounts demanding to know if Elon has fired the 'CIA/FBI employees' at Twitter. There were no "CIA/FBI employees" at Twitter. They actually BELIEVED Taibbi's hyperbolic headline of "Twitter is an FBI subsidiary"

Had they actually read Taibbi's tweets beyond the salacious soundbite they'd know that this wasn't actually the case.

That hyperbolic headline was some straight-up irresponsible and dishonest "reporting" by Taibbi right there. That's the same kind of dishonest inciting bullshit like "stop the steal" that got people so riled that they attacked the US Capitol on January 6th.

There are a slew of former FBI/CIA employees at Twitter. There are the people we are talking about......
And, Facebook is even worse.

Thread:

So? People move from the government to corporations all the time.

DP. I could be wrong, but I think the focus isn’t really the act of moving to the corporation, but what went on.

What went on was that the FBI warned Twitter that Russians and others were looking to peddle disinformation to eff with the election, and Twitter thought the New York Post story violated their TOS because it was based on hacked material.

They know all that perfectly well, in fact better than any of us, since they are privy to the internal emails and messages that show all of it. But, they have a narrative to sell.

Waving off all the prior evidence of Russian deza campaigns as "reductionist" seems a bit reductionist to me.

That’s what the seven twitter files drops do?

Yes, the twitter file drops DEFINITELY do that - wave off FBI's actual purpose and don't even talk about it, giving their readers the false sense that the FBI's sole mission and purpose in working with Twitter was to suppress legitimate conservative viewpoints, which was not at all the case - when in fact FBI was working on things like counterintelligence against foreign entities, counterterrorism, and other criminal behavior. Why aren't Taibbi and Schellenberger reporting any of that? All of this "Twitter Files" crap is a slap in the face and an insult to the FBI.

The distorted "Twitter Files" narrative iitself is starting to turn into one of the biggest lies Twitter has ever peddled.

The Intercept’s Lee Fang just dropped twitter files 8. It addresses alleged military propaganda re the Middle East. Even those on the neoliberal the-military-does-no-wrong side of the street may find it disturbing.

Yet more "Twitter Files" bullshit debunked - NO, RWNJs, the FBI is NOT "paying Twitter millions to censor."

This Twitter Files crap so far has been complete garbage.

The FBI had the laptop almost a year prior. To say it was Russian disinformation was not truthful

Yoel Roth was really pushing back hard against the FBI, knowing they were asking for too much. His emails were really good in this regard.

What are the odds that any one company would have as many "former" FBI agents as twitter on the payroll?
