For those who have lost weight, please share your most helpful strategies. Thanks.

Calorie counting and tracking my foods. eating the recommended amount of protein, staying under for fat and carbs. Lifting heavy weights.

For me, it comes down to no sugar, no snacking, limited dairy and carbs and skipping breakfast.

find a fitness tracker you like. Calculate a daily calorie goal and use the tracker.

Drop all sweets and sugary drinks. I haven't had a single soft drink since November, and lost 2-3 pounds just from that. I used to drink about 1 a day.

Now I drink just water.

16 hour IF and a ketogenic diet. cut the sugar, and breads and include high fats, medium protein. Its easier than you think it will be.

do not drink any calories (alcohol, soda, juice, sweet coffee beverages); drink a ton of water (64oz+ a day); skip dessert; limit dairy; no snacks; don't eat after 7pm; aim for high protein meals

I've lost 20lbs this year following this plan (with exercise), and it has been pretty painless, unlike the time I tried to count every carb.

I do the fasting but not keto. Lost about 20 in 5 months. Very minimal effort

I couldn't do the IF because of the no sugar and cream in my coffee in the morning is a killer for me. Other than that, I was fine fasting for 16 hours. However, I didn't lose weight and I think it was due to the sugar and coffee in the my coffee.

That's ridiculous. Unless you we're pouring in a quart of cream and 12 packs of sugars your coffee was not impeding weight loss. You were over consuming and underburning across the board if you were not losing weight. Weight loss is ALWAYS facilitated by being in an caloric deficit. Always.

x1000. The ignorance about how IF works is getting out of control. Calorie deficit is how every single diet method works.

I agree, caloric deficit is a major component. However, IF with good foods is a must.

Meaning no processed foods, low carbs, starches, etc. Stay away from foods that spike your insulin, blood sugar.

Focus on meats and above ground vegetables, limit below ground veggies.

The biggest benefit of combined IF and Keto, your body goes into ketosis and maximizes fat burning from your stores, assuming a caloric deficit.

I absolutely believe too much sugar, starch, carb intake can throw the IF off the rails.

Np - this is so motivating. Thx. I’ve starte 16 hour IF last week and find it pretty easy to follow. Much easier than I thought. I knew my problem was after 6 pm eating so this has really helped me stay focused. There’s so little I can control in my life that can help me lose weight that doesn’t require preplanning or excessive monitoring, but this is one of them.

Calorie deficit is the only component. Eat too many fat bombs and you won't lose fat. Look at all the keto people claiming they "stalled." No, you just ate more calories than your body needs. I've done keto and yes, it works if you eat in a deficit, but the pendulum seems to be swinging the way of low fat diets and snackwell's of the '90's.
