Biden's VP?

Detroit's Mike Duggan--U of Michigan BA, JD--has a great Everyman Schtick that would play so well in pealing white moderates away from Trump in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio. These are the whites that voted for Obama and flipped to Trump in 2016. But, Biden already said he's committed to a female.

Odds to be Joe Biden's Vice Presidential Running Mate:

Kamala Harris +135
Amy Klobuchar +300
Stacy Abrams +500
Tammy Duckworth +700
Elizabeth Warren +950
Michelle Obama +2000
Catherine Cortez Masto +2500
Michelle Lujan Grisham +3000
Pete Buttigieg +5000

Politico article today said major factor will be ability to help win the Rust Belt. With that frame in mind, has to be Klobuchar, Whitmer, or Duckworth.

It is AMY

If you're so sure it's Amy, then go bet your mortgage on her. Sounds like you can triple your bet?

Until the media blacked out Warren, she was ascendant. A ticket that represents America’s diversity makes sense (Harris, since voters already “met” her), but let’s not pretend like Warren isn’t popular.

God I hope it’s not Amy.

Whitmer isn't popular in her own state, people.

Klobuchar could alienate AA voters. Her prosecutorial record will be blown up, just as Harris's was. I understand Biden wants/needs to win the rust belt, but there has to be someone else who appeals.

Second, mayors have a TON of executive experience -- the REAL kind of executive experience where they are held accountable everyday by their citizens. Contrast that with a tv show "executive" who is accountable to a producer and a few family members (if that).

Let's be real. The "experience" needed is sound mind, good judgment, and willingness to SERVE for the good of ALL the people. Mayors are certainly good candidates.

A good leader can hire experts in various fields. A good leader takes advice from experts, considers it in light of the needs of the people and the situation, and makes a reasoned decision. A president doesn't have to have foreign relations experience or even national experience. All of that can be hired or learned. But, a good leader is willing to learn from experts.

Stop trying to make Duggan happen. Don't worry darling, white men won't be forgotten forever. One day they'll finally, FINALLY, get the chance to prove that they, too, can do the job.

I wrote this and don't even know who Duggan is!

NP. It's a little tiring to have great female candidates suggested and shot down because they're "not experienced enough" and then as soon as someone suggest an inexperienced male, it's all "oh experience doesn't matter". It kind of reinforces the idea that what you actually care about is the Y chromosome.

I still say that the relatively unknown Michelle Lujan Grisham is the best candidate. She is Latina woman who was the NM Secretary of Health, then served 3 terms in Congress including chairing the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and then was the first Democratic woman elected governor of New Mexico and the first Latina Democratic woman elected chief executive of any state in the union. She has an approval rating of 58%.

Biden especially needs help with Latino voters, that and under 30 voters are his two weakest demographics. Appealing to the under 30 voters is not a winning tactic as Sanders has found out because they are just not reliable voters and you can't guarantee that you'll get enough of them to vote. So he should concentrate on enhancing his popularity with the Latino voters. It's the largest growing demographic in the US and is very significant in several swing races.

She sounds great, but who? is what 95% of voters would say. Give her a cabinet position.

She's great but does she help in WI, PA, MI, OH?

She has a positive approval rating and Trump has been tweeting about her so he must be getting nervous.

There is plenty of time to introduce an unknown. Really. There are 7 months before the election.

She's as well known (probably more) than Obama was known on the national stage in 2008. And as well known as Dan Quayle in 2000 and Al Gore in 1992.

It's far more important that the candidate be scandal free, have positive attributes and not have negatives than to have national recognition. Once the candidate is announced, the press will dig very, very deep and will introduce them to the public, very quickly and extensively.
