Who announced it?

Can u post a linkabout this?

Found it: http://www.annandaleunitedfc.com/page/show/3366175-vepa

Sounds like a way to boost parents' egos by saying their kids are in some elite training program for which their teammates are ineligible. Should go over really well.

Elite pathway to what? Another gimmicky program. I think it's great that it's free but who is going to drive their kid for an hour just to train. Oh it's "elite" pick-up.

Elite pathway to FCV DA I'm sure

They are obviously creating...or trying to create...a player pool...for their DAs. Loudoun-FCV will then take the good ones....leaving the smaller club weaker then before.

Kind of like conquistadors taken what they want and sending it back to the motherland...while the natives stay depressed. SAVAGES.

Lol

What do you bitches think of FC Barcelona putting a woman's team in the NWSL in 2018? Looks like home base will be California.

First European club ever to play in a US league.

FCV-Spirit who?

Ha ha...who gives AF.

#1. FCV and Spirit DA are not pro teams
#2. Barcrlona has a womens team...and they suck.
#3. I think a NSWL should be allowed into the Champions League.

So, The Virginian Elite Tournament this year.....is this tournament still considered a quality or "elite" event? As I see many of the teams are not considered quality teams, and it has sure not attracted very many top college coaches this year....? Anyone have any insight? Which tournaments are the top club teams participating in?

Excellent point, I see a lot of teams moving to the EDP CUP, though those teams have to travel to NJ, so I'm thinking they're the real losers from the switch.

The younger years still get the top teams. Older teams tend to travel out of town for tournaments Memorial Day.

Too bad can't get them all to come here so we are not caught in a 6 hour traffic jam up to jersey on the busiest travel weekend.

Yes. People have a completely insular view of soccer in the DMV.

Well, it is travel soccer and EDP Cup bills itself as the #1 ranked tournament in the U.S. So why not drive up to NJ for the weekend and play against the best? No brainer for our club. Although I might feel otherwise when I'm subjected to those Jersey parents keepin' it classy.

Got soccer points... gotta catch'em all!!!

My sons team is the best youth soccer team in the world! That fact that I said it makes it true!

Travel soccer was meant to be differentiated from Rec soccer. What ECNL, EDP, and now to am extent USDA is something else, maybe you can call it faux-elite soccer or some other name. Travel soccer are the teams that play in NCSL, ODSL, NPL (a little more travel, but not excessive). Did you see the ECNL Boys division that BRYC is in, would call trips to OH,NY, NJ travel soccer, similar label to what a second team would be doing by traveling around NoVA? I don't think so.

It's public school vs private school. The big bucks (no matter the intelligence) pay the $40k year/tuition.

Soccer has the same analogy. The big bucks (and status seekers) do the major travel. Meanwhile, plenty of excellent players all over the country of higher caliber are stuck in their circumstances---no $ to play.

The further you travel doesn't make it anymore special.
As the comment on the jersey parents, you sound just as obnoxious.
