Im 17 and graduating this year
I've known I was gay since I knew what gay meant (I was 8) I asked a boy out during my junior year and was outed, lost almost all of his friends none of my family know |
| When are you going to tell your family (if ever)? Have you ever been suicidal? |
|
do you think your family will not be accepting?
have you had romantic relationships yet? |
| Why did the boy lose all his friends? Are you in a city or rural area? Are you a sporty type or a bit of a gender bender? |
| Why would anyone care? |
| Are you looking forward to seeing Simon at the movies? |
Mind your business then, some of us are interested Go ahead, OP |
I would like to think one day I will find somebody special that I want to tell the whole world about, and I will be brave enough to them when that happens. Keep in mind, I have never officially come out to anyone. Yes, I tried to kill myself twice in December but not over being gay. I failed and was very angry but have gotten help since them and am currently in counseling. |
Yes, they come from a very homophobic country. I have hooked up with a few guys but I am not in contact with any of them. I'm still a minor so the fact that we were engaging in illegal activity turned them off most likely. |
I am the boy. I lost my friends because homophobia is still a very big problem. I played basketball and ran track but am not doing sports currently. If by "gender bender" you mean do I cross-dress? no, I wear guy clothes only. I am not trans or a drag queen. I do not wear makeup either. |
If you are not interested in this, that is fine, but obviously some people are. I ask you to be respectful and exit my thread if you do not care. |
Yes! I tried to find one of those sites where you can movies for free, but it's still in theater, so no videos have been posted loll. Most likely, I will find a female friend to go with me to the movies since it's spring break to see it. |
No, I didn't mean cross dressing per se, I just wondered if you prefer sports that are traditionally men's sports like football or hockey or if you enjoy more gender neutral activities like maybe drama. I'm sorry to hear you are subjected to homophobia. I'm sure that's very very stressful. |
To answer your question about where I live, I live in Fairfax County. It's so funny to me when people assume that an area like this that is slightly left-leaning would not have homophobia. I literally had my ex-friend call me a faggot when he found out I was gay. I sing in a chorus if that counts as gender neutral. I know you don't mean to be politically incorrect, but labelling something like sports as belonging to a gender is a little offensive. Women play sports just as much as guys and guys participate in drama just as much as girls. |

It shouldn't be offensive - PP said very traditional manly sports, football and hockey. Of the people that play football and hockey in the world, I expect 95% are men.
No need to learn to have every slightly non-PC comment/thought offend you - life is already hard enough as a gay teenager! That being said, you've seen this site, it gets better? https://itgetsbetter.org/ Make sure you don't commit suicide OP. It's a permanent answer to some temporary problems you're going through. Life as a gay guy is seriously awesome once you get into your 20s and 30s and live in DC - just ask any of my friends. |
