Did anybody here go to their tryouts? Care to share?

Pretty good turnouts with the expected variance of talent.

Man...come on. What's is this BS. Lol....I hope they buy out evergreen and kick FCV off the fields so they have to practices at FCV fusion fields...lol

What is your beef with FCV?

They went to Spirit tryouts (with a S) and intimidated and snitched on kids (from multiple clubs). You know, typical Beta male behavior

Dynamite tried to get into NCSL in 2015 but was rejected, mostly because of concerns over field availability.

IFC ran into similar problems.

Note that IFC has put teams in EDP. And they've done OK -- their U14s won their first five games rather handily.

(Cugini's U18s, on the other hand, have a goal difference of -23 through three games. How/why are they in EDP?)

The cynic in me would say the emphasis on economically challenged communities was what killed the deal. Field availability and competitiveness was the official reason. I truly believe people aren't out to help other people, and the clubs maybe thought their teams might be challenged by a few of the DFC teams.

I agree, Fields must not be an issue if they are able to provide them for ODSL. Some DFC teams have done well in tournaments and I think one went far in state/presidents cup a few years back.

Screw FCV -- sucky environment to play in anyway and will get their come-uppance

Good lord... these sorts of heresay posts drive me nuts.

All clubs have issues, including questionable integrity at times. I won't condone the Spirit tryout visit, but DD has been at FCV for several years now, and I don't think there is a better club solution for us. Every year circumstances change and we re-evaluate all the club options available, and we'll be back next year.

I suspect you'd have to have been there and heard what was said to be able to comment accurately. Not defending whatever did happen, just saying its kind of a dangerous thing to point a finger at someone's integrity unless you have all the deets.

In any event, it was the "FCV is sucky" comment that I was referring to as being hearsay.

That does sound like a "sucky" environment to play in, I don't care what anyone says. Those coaches should be held accountable, and the DOC should acknowledge it was wrong.

That's an awful thing to do. If you are certain of the facts, I would talk to the Board of the club where that person coaches. These are kids, not indentured servants, and there is no call for that kind of intimidation just because families want to explore their options. That's not going to help anyone become a better soccer player.

I'd be curious to know what was said, from FCV coaches to the players trying out.

+1

Soccer coaches and TDs/Club directors do not intimidate. Not for one second. If anyone pulled that shit with my kids--I'd walk--right then and there. Wait--I did .

My kids were called 'traitors' and that we were making the biggest mistake every when my kids left a large ccl club. They were 8 and 10. ha. My 10-year old asked to leave because he wanted better training. It's a business, right? That's what they say. If the customer wants something else it's their choice. Somebody turned youth soccer into big business and this is what happens when a business doesn't deliver.

FCV is full of assholes. If you haven't heard that, you haven't been paying attention.
