Yes, they are way worse in the UK than in the US.

Do many people bother to read them?

eye roll for you.

People who see this narrative are unhinged.

This is a dude who chose to protect his wife and kids the way the 10 year old in him wished someone would have protected his dead mother.

Actually you seem unhinged just by making that statement. Those of us who’ve been around personality disordered people can see her for what she is.

When were you around MM?

YES. The British press is a thousand times worse. They are relentless.

Think Perez Hilton circa 2005 with slightly fewer penis cartoons.

That's why this actually IS important.

Oprah used this lying woman and she’s too dumb to see it.

Oprah did not buy it. Her mannerisms and tone were telling that she was not buying it.

Human Resources? Really? That was when it had completely flown the coop.

My 15-year old son said "she went to see Toby?". I spit my drink out on that one. We had just finished the entire Office series.

The fact that you think there is no HR apparatus in the Firm is kind of risible.

Americans are really poorly-informed about the relationship between the family and the Firm. They are not contiguous. The Firm is a business.

I am a Fed and I wouldn't go to HR about my mental illness, even if it were job stress.

The 'Toby' thing was funny.

There’s nowhere else to go. Because she’s in a royal capacity she can’t just call up and doctor for help. They have to be vetted and approved by the Firm.

I know it's silly but I've always been a big fan of hers. She seemed like a nice, normal person who just happened to be so pretty that she caught the eye of a prince. She also didn't seem that into the job, like she married him because she loves him not because she wants to be queen that badly.

This news that she didn't stand up for Meghan, that she didn't issue a correction of what really happened with Meghan at the dress fitting, that she is married to a racist who questions the skin color of his nephew, etc.

It's really disappointing. I feel like I can't be a fan anymore.

I noticed this. I now have a dislike for her because of it. She should have done more. Vocally

She wouldn't even have had to say anything or speak to the press. She could have just gone out to lunch with Meghan somewhere they'd be seen right after the news broke. It would have sent a message that the story was a nonissue.

Like the tennis game they went to together and Kate was very friendly to her?

I thought that was before the wedding incident.

Nope, the wedding incident happened in 2018 (when Kate was a week postpartum). Tennis once once that summer and once the next summer.

Do you think Megan asked Kate how she was, lol?

I would guess that’s why Meghan didn’t say anything at the time. She served as Kate’s shield because she was concerned about her. Meghan didn’t realize until much later that Kate would never extend even a fraction of that kindness back to her.

I'm not terribly invested in Royal goings on. But, I am going quite tired of people, like this PP. who profess to know what is best for Harry or Megan, or both.

I see no reason not to take what they are saying at face value. And this is after decades of watching the Royals eat their own and new members of the "family" (including Diana and Fergie). Then let's not forget Prince Andrew and his alleged behavior, which they've summarily ignored. They seem like pretty awful people, for the most part, more concerned with the status of the monarchy than anyone or anything else. There is zero reason not to believe them -and I'm not going to parse it out as some of you are intent to do- and even less basis to think you know better than the couple what is best for them.

The thing about this is that they could have discretely had her talk to a psychologist without anyone knowing. She could have gotten help.

It is appalling they decided otherwise.

I’m also disappointed about the fact that they didn’t want to provide security. Is it because the security is more expensive or more racist?

Seriously- it cannot possibly be worth it to have the whole family be destroyed this way.

Finally- i still think it’s HRH Charles that made the skin color reference. I’m gonna be honest- that many is sketchy

Omg this is so true.

100%

Their relationship was lightning quick...and since she had a 'past' they were all very concerned.

I was 39 when I met DH. He was 40yoa. We met in November, engaged in March, and married in August. We have been together 17 years, much longer than friends who dated for years and then married. If you are older and lived life, you should know what you want and do not want by the time you reach 35. They were not concerned. That's BS.

Anonymous wrote:Does anyone find the whole story about therapy really, really weird? It's well known (at least here in the UK), that Charles pushed Diana to go to therapy, that William and Harry went to therapy after their mother passed (they've both spoken publicly about this), that Kate went to therapy with her brother when he was very depressed. Meghan said that she told everyone and no one was willing to help. Harry then said he told no one, not even his family. She couldn't have called up her OBGYN to ask for a referral? A private doctor? Harry's therapist? It makes no sense to me.

This is a really good point!

Maybe they know how to support therapy but not immediate emergency suicide needs?
Maybe Harry and Meghan’s closest team members (whoever she emailed?) felt vulnerable to the info getting out?
Maybe because it came by email they didn’t think it was so urgent? I’m not sure what happened, but you do raise some good questions.

Come on, a pregnant woman is stating she is suicidal to multiple people and no one contacts her OB which would be the first level of support? It's just not credible.

There are many reasons why a pregnant or immediately PP woman's doctor may not be contacted or, if so, may not provide any support whatsoever. Until you know what you're talking about, you need to STFU.

Isn’t that the point of the royal family? To make sure the family survives, not to focus on any particular person. You always put the family name and country above all else? I’m just an avid watcher of the Crown and even I know that.

We’re only hearing one side here about the alleged comment on the baby’s skin color. Which means we have no idea of context nor intent. The narrative serves Meghan well. But suppose the comment was actually excited speculation on what the baby would look like? Those words, taken out of context, sure would look racist. But the context and intent might proved that they weren’t.

If he was old enough to school they would have refused to pay for it.

This is bullshit. Archie is the great grandchild of the Monarch. No great grandchildren have princely titles. That is how it is. When they become grandchildren of the monarch - when Charles ascends to the throne - they will get security.

Right.....but this thinking is completely outdated. We live in an age of social media radicalization and extremism. Where radicals plot violence on apps and can act on it in a matter of days.

That child has very real security needs TODAY. Not when Charles ascends to the throne. Now.

This is just one instance where the BRF as an institution refuses to face reality.

And anyone who can afford to buy a $20 Million house can afford private security guards instead of mooching off of granny.

They certainly could have "settled" for a perfectly lovely $5 million house, with ample left for security etc., but they really do want to have their cake.

Is it your money?

I'm not the one whining about being financially cut off in my mid-30s when I don't care to work.

You sound very ignorant. Were you one of the posters who said, Harry is just trying to get money and rich when he made those Netflix and Spotify deals.

Probably and if I were Harry (aka not really in line for the throne), I'd want to leave too. Why put up with all the negative when you don't reap the benefit?

You thought she should know that they would confiscate her passport and drivers license and not let her go to lunch without permission?

I thought she should know that yes you curtsy to the queen and that you give up a lot of personal freedoms, absolutely.

She also talked in the interview about how no one tried to prep or train her on anything and she would stay up all night learning anthems and songs and the right way to do things and the right way to say things to try to make them proud.

This. They set her up to fail. When she dazzled everyone, they started feeding false and awful stories to the tabloids to district from Pedo Andrew and Will's affairs.

+1

But what was the incentive to have her fail?

To make lazy Kate look good. Succeeded.
