The CDC screwed up the initial testing capability we needed

Contact tracing is a privacy/trust issue we are an individualistic society vs collective (most SE asian countries)

We have public health agencies at the state and federal level. Maybe you've never interacted with them or heard from them but they're there.

they aren't big enough or have experience with real contact tracing
plus the CDC testing failure made it hard to contact trace

The reality is we were forced to go to shutdown because of the testing failure at the outset

Yes, they have experience with real contact tracing. They may be too small but that's not a permanent state.

Americans are too dumb, thoughtless and inconsiderate to do contact tracing. Can you imaging the Bs info the tracer person would get from talking with the average dumb American or illiterate? Nil helpfulness.

States are on track to hire, train, and deploy over 66000 contact tracers. That number can be increased or decreased as needed.

Virginia added 1067 new cases yesterday, the highest ever.

DMV is the hot spot now.

Hospitalizations?

Deaths?

Infections is meaningless, come on.

There is no way it is less than 200,000 and with states opening up, be prepared for far more.

Horrific.

Only 100k? Excellent. But let’s make it 200k just to stick it to him and america.

Ok....let's just get rid of all of the state's DOH reports and simply rely on the NYT opinion columns to assess the virus' impact.

Maybe, maybe not.

As a percentage of deaths vs. contractions, we just don't know, because we don't know how many had it and cleared it without any big indicators and have antibodies in their blood.

The author, who worked with a statistics professor and other experts, said this very thing, and plainly acknowledged that their findings are not definitive.
