Um, the facts on the ground have changed?

The only thing that's changed is your level of crazed desperation. Good luck with that!

The crazed desperation today was from Mitch McConnell with his “NOT ONE STEP BACK” speech.

Okay .. semi serious question.. are they really so precarious that they don't think they can get another judge through by Jan 3? Or has Trump dug in? Or are they absolutely wedded to kavanaugh for some other reason?

Yikes. Looks like Brett is a real drunk, according to his college roommate.

I was skeptical at first, but it is clear now to me he is guilty as sin. The yeaebooks, two accusers (so far), the college roommate...

And the fact that they won't call Mike Judge.

Barrett is not confirmable. Everyone else would need too much scrutiny, given the timelines, election etc.

Pulling Kavanaugh and starting over would anger some of the base. But it seems like plenty of senators are worried about being crucified for ancient skeletons in their closets. Digging in won't solve that problem for them.

Kennedy did leave under suspicious circumstances.

He's 100 years old and wanted a conservative successor. The GOP is failing him.

I think I can hear McConnell banging his head against the wall from here.

They’re wedded to Kavanaugh because Trump picked him, and because all their donors are scratching and clawing for that fifth vote before the Senate May flip. Trump picked him because he’s WAY outside the judicial mainstream on the powers of the President. Watching McConnell squirm knowing that he told Trump that almost everyone else on the list was more confirmable than Kavanaugh is delicious.

“Cutting ties with Kavanaugh is admitting he's problematic. Admitting he's problematic is admitting Trump is too. That's why they have to dig in. And that's why they're f*cked.”

Ford's lawyers protest proposed Senate Judiciary plan to have an experienced sex crimes prosecutor do the questioning on Thursday. They are asking for the prosecutor's identity but assume seem to know hired prosecutor is a female as they ask to meet with her tomorrow. Letter re-iterates the complaint that White House hasn't asked the FBI to investigate.

So I take it the Fox interview didn’t change any of our minds (in either direction)?

I’ve been anti-Brett the whole way but I I’m a little less so after watching.

I look forward to hearing Dr. Ford on Thursday.
