OP, I get that you're afraid to call because you're afraid of what you might hear, but you should just get it over with. I know you tried one number for the uncle, but maybe try the other one or his wife's, as someone else suggested.

Considering the Uncle posted Wednesday night, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I think it's fairly obvious he wasn't at the cabin that has no service.
