California already compensated for Texas' changes. Virginia doesn't need to change their maps.

Virginia is attempting to compensate for all of the other Republican states that gerrymandered after Texas: Missouri, Ohio, and North Carolina. And Florida is on deck. None of those states offered it up to the voters directly, either.

So you’ll be cool when FL reciprocates? Listen to yourself!

I’m not cool with any of this, which is why I’ve supported the multiple bills in Congress that ban partisan gerrymandering.

+1

I fully support a federal ban on gerrymandering...but until then...

Maybe the Dems doing it will finally get the GOP to start supporting that federal ban. We all know the GOP can’t recognize anything unfair or unjust unless it’s happening to them personally. In this case, you really do need to shove the dog’s face in its own poo if you expect them to learn.

Do you think democracy is working right now? We are at war and don’t even know why. We are cutting science funding, getting rid of vaccines, struggling to pay for food, not to mention the Epstein Files. Congress isn’t doing anything to help us, the Supreme Court is using shadow dockets to stack the policy deck. How is this democracy at work?

Don’t even bother engaging with those clowns. They think the GOP can do no wrong, that every end justifies every means. Peter Thiel wouldn’t be dumping tons of money into this election unless he was scared his plot for political domination would be coming to an end.

Quit projecting. You know that the Dem billionaires have been pouring far more into this than Thiel. Anyone can look at the planned maps and know there is nothing fair about it. "Restore fairness?" Pure deception from our Richmond leaders.

Trump is in power and he has been very clear that democracy is dead. The only fair election is the one that his side wins. We’re just trying to save the country from being Trump’s play toy to loan out to his billionaire buddies.

Liar. They are being totally transparent. It’s obviously to restore fairness on a national level which has been explained countless times.

You continue to push this lame ass argument hoping that your dumb fvk MAGAs will be misled. That sht doesn’t work here.

Disagree. They know that what Trump is doing is wrong. They love it because it is wrong.

They just don’t want Dems to fight back so they continue to shovel out loads of BS.

I love the enthusiasm to rig an election. Man we've gone a far, far way down the rabbit hole. We promise, we'll only rig it this time!

Elections are already "rigged"...this is just gives Rs a little less "rigging".

The mental gymnastics y’all are doing to justify your power grab is impressive. Just own it. You’re trying to gerrymander right now because you can. Or so you think. Man, even if this nonsense passes in Tuesday, the VA Supreme Court will have its say a few days later. Just think about that for a second. The Dems cheated to ram through an amendment to rig elections in their favor, all in the name of “restoring fairness”. It sounds like something you’d read in The Onion.

The Supreme Court is hoping it won't pass. If it does, they will have enabled a huge expenditure for this ridiculous vote.
The timing is off according to the law, but that can be twisted.
What is more egregious to me is the bias/slant on the wording of the referendum. I don't see how that can pass muster with the court. It is clearly against the law.

Hopefully it fails and this nonsense is put to bed, or until the next opportunity for the Dems to cheat presents itself. But if it passes, the supreme court needs to do its job. The law is clear. There needs to be a 90 day window before it goes to referendum. That didn’t happen. And the special session for the budget isn’t a catch-all for them to ram this though. The whole thing is a complete and utter sham. It’s disgusting

More disgusting was J6 and is the SAVE act.
More disgusting is the shadow docket.
But at least we are trying to do something to stem the evil wrought by Robert’s, McConnell (with merrick Garland), the J6ers, Mike Johnson and Trump.

The disgusting thing is that nearly everything the dems do is for one purpose - to gain or retain power.

Thanks for proving yet again:

Every accusation is a confession.
