Boundary Review Meetings

Imagine missing a deadline for 300k customers with no explanation or an eta for delivery.

BRAC members repeatedly ask for relevant information and those requests go into a void. If I were on BRAC I’d either have just ghosted the committee by now, or gone public with the fact that I’d been stonewalled by FCPS and could not fulfill the mandate.

Thank you to all the BRAC members who have had to deal with Gatehouse’s hostility, ineptitude, lack of responsiveness, and lack of transparency. We all see that you are tirelessly working for your communities, and that FCPS is not.

I imagine I would be escorted out of my office with a box of my personal items.

It’s the biggest example of the recent incompetence that FCPS shows in so many of their initiatives. Whether intentional or not, it comes across as another way to tell families they don’t matter.

She doesn’t care. Like all scandals she’s been apart of, she will pass the blame and move on. Or simply ignore it and never address it.

Imagine a kid getting docked for turning in a late assignment when we have this miserable excuse for a superintendent.

Imagine not understanding how many families are anxious about this.

School Board members must be livid that they were told they could send out emails yesterday promising the updated map yesterday evening. Of course they also should have double checked first to make sure that was accurate. Isn’t that why we’re now paying for them to have two assistants paid more than teachers in some cases?

At a minimum they should have sent out an email saying that the release would be delayed (and why) and rescheduling the first community meetings to allow time to review the scenario.

I get about a dozen emails a week from FCPS with nonsense info, and they can't send out one more with info that people actually want????

It's not clear they've even realized a deadline was missed.

"October 11 Update: We apologize for the delay in posting the updated maps. We are continuing to work to resolve an issue with the Boundary Explorer Tool, and we expect the maps to be posted today. Thank you for your patience."

Lame.

Looks like it’s posted here: https://www.fcps.edu/about-fcps/maps/2024-2026-boundary-review

But of course, not on the map tool website itself …

How hard is it to send out slides like theyve done previously and then updated the map tool later?
