But anyway, I think she is a strong female character on the show who is interesting because she has a more personal (even if not quite equal) relationship with our hero Dr. Robby. And she shows another side to Robby, one showing maybe he had a relationship with a subordinate, which probably isn’t hospital policy, and maybe he wasn’t totally blameless in that relationship failing (maybe because of work, but we don’t know).

I thought their scene together in the back of the ambulance, where Collins confessed she had aborted his baby and not told him because she was afraid he would hate her, and he said he understood, was a real gut punch, something I hadn’t seen before, and fantastic acting by both actors. Bravo. 🙌

Your comment got deleted because you falsely pushed a narrative that people don’t like Collins because she is a “strong black woman” which couldn’t be further from the truth.

DP that likes Collins, has posted about her, and way back called out some implicit bias. People are so wound up with not liking a character they describe as bland and cold (despite her arguably having the most affectionate scenes in the season) that they need to pretend that only one person likes her. It's evident that there are multiple posters that like her, and multiple posters that don't. And the race war comments are weird, because for every post that goes too far with calling MAGA, there's a post insisting that anyone who does like her is trying to start a race war.

I have yet to see someone articulate a real reason why Collins is unlikable or a bad character. In some respects her arc is more subtle, but not in all. And if you don't know a lot about her, you haven't been paying attention, because they've told us a lot about her.

I don't dislike Collins, but I think she brought a lot less personality (what you're terming subtlety) to the show than anyone else, including characters I didn't like, like the guy who punched Dana. Hated him, but he was a bigger character (I don't mean literally) than Collins.

People are allowed to like or dislike characters on TV shows and that's ok. People have given lots of articulate and valid reasons why they don't like her, you just aren't listening to any of them. Again, I don't dislike her, but that doesn't mean I have to disagree with everyone who does.

Well I feel vindicated! Thank you! This is all I’ve been saying the whole time. But yeah, we have moved on.

I’m hoping Dr. Collins doesn’t return because she’s just so blah.

I hope next season is a complete focus on Dr. Collins and nothing else. Every second of every hour for 15 hours. Follow her into the bathroom and everything. Then the people who dislike her so much will leave the thread and we won’t have to discuss this anymore.

IKR, I came to share my thoughts about the finale and next season but what's the point when you see this commitment to derailment? I've been wanting to ask Jeff if we could have a separate thread for people who aren't obsessed with directing negativity to Collins. But I can't think of a way that it would work. I happen to like the character very much, but in the unlikely event she did something really terrible or odd we'd want to be able to discuss it. Unfortunately I think this thread is doomed to becoming a circle jerk for the anti-Collins contingent, because they just can't let it lie. And normal people get tired of it and leave the thread.

Dramatic much? You can’t discuss the finale now because someone said Dr. Collins was “blah”?

NP. Are you ok? I’ve never seen this much hostility over someone not liking a character. I actually think you are derailing this thread with comments like this. Why does someone saying they don’t like Dr. Collins trigger you so much?

I’d replace Dr. Collins next season with more of Dr. Ellis. She was a much more engaging character to me.

DP. Whenever someone uses the word “trigger” it’s pretty clear they’re just baiting the other person. Your fake solicitousness is annoying and transparent.

I don't think much of the time Robby is even the main character, but instead one that exists just to facilitate the characters around him.

Ok. Forget the word trigger. Can you explain why it bothers you so much that some people don’t like Dr. Collins, to the point that you feel the need to shut down any negativity towards a fictional character, and derail this thread with this nonsense? Have you attacked the posters who don’t like Jake?

Geez, people seem to dislike both Collins and Jake a whole lot, and not really anyone else. I feel like these two characters have something in common, but I just can’t quite put my finger on what that physical characteristic is. Hmmm.

I dislike Dr. Collins but I like Dr. Ellis a lot. How do you explain that? I need your analysis.
