Will Trump drop Vance?

I think what you say is nonsense, we're 90 years down the line from the Act I cited, and anyone who doesn't have electricity at this point is sabotaging themselves.

In short, I don't believe the story you are peddling here.

Native Americans are used to being forgotten, so I suppose that's par for the course.

Ahem.

Did he ever mention his ACT, SAT or LSAT score in his memoir? I know military vet is a law school admissions hook but I'm wondering what other help he got. Do those right wing think tanks have a lot of clout in law school admissions? Maybe he also checked the foster care box?

Hmmmm. Sounds kind of like a ... DEI admission.

It if happens, it would happen during the DNC in order to attract attention away from it or maybe just after. Vance will announce he is unable to continue on the ticket. Now, the reason will be tricky because he can't say he needs to focus on his family nor will he likely fall on his sword and say he is a distraction because he has his whole career ahead of him. Trump will say it is too bad because he was the best VP pick in the history of VP picks. Of course this won't happen unless Trump has someone else locked in to be VP. Carson may be the only person politically dumb enough to agree and he is only marginally better. Haley is the wildcard and could make the biggest difference.

But then the question is did Vance sign some sort of NDA, because he will then become a liability in the future.

Yes, I am just scenario-ing all this out in my head based on prior observations.

There’s a reason that the actual delegates are voting starting this week and not at the DNC. Several states ballot deadlines will have passed. By the DNC, it will be too late to pull Vance off the ballot in a couple of red states nd, oh yeah, OHIO. I don’t get how people are missing that 8/7, the Ohio ballot deadline, locks both parties in.

+1 And Ohio actually matters to Trump who needs it to win. We weren’t getting it anyway.

With Vance creeping people out, we might. If Sherrod Brown wins, which he likely will, the state will be in play... Trump REALLY needs Vance to stop acting so weird.

Or ... does he?

Maybe we can all agree that everything is going perfectly fine.

I think the Republican Party has the absolute right to make terrible decisions about the VP Candidate. Backing down would make them weak. You aren’t weak are you MAGA? You won’t listen to liberal elite mommies, right! (PLEASE keep Vance).

Sometimes, you just need a reality check outside your urban bubble. Try it. It might be enlightening.

DP. My friend, I live where I work. It's so rural that 1/3 the population here doesn't have electricity, and 1/2 doesn't have running water to their homes. You should see what it's like sometime. Open your eyes, get out of that weird echo chamber of your side.

What's the back story you aren't telling us?

What backstory? I'm a physician working remotely with an underserved population as a federal employee. I don't live anywhere near DC anymore, but I'm a fan of the site, and the fed employee discussions remain quite relevant.

There's not much more to it than that. Oh, and I'm about as far from urban as you can get. I drive 3 hours to get my Jeep serviced. It's a trip.

So these people weren't served by the Rural Electrification Act of 1936?

Do they live there because they want to?

Is this an enclave of three houses with one without electricity to get these numbers?

Are you this out of touch with the experience of poverty in your own country?

I can't figure out how someone who worked in media relations has this thoroughly, well, rocky online history. The photos, the tweets, the emails, the actual interviews. He seems like someone who was itching for public office, but he didn't seem to act like it on the way.

Do you think we can get back to whether Trump will drop Vance? Because that's actually the topic of the thread, and I should hope I've clarified that I get out of the urban bubble just fine, thanks.

Carry on.

Trump won't drop Vance and if you keep putting your faith in Washington, those people will not have electricity in 2124.

When we ordered more COVID tests at the beginning of the pandemic, back when we had the highest fatality rate in world (just after NYC peaked), we opened the boxes to find body bags instead. Not helpful, Trump.

We'll do just fine figuring out the grid expansion. What we don't want is more of Trump, and we'll turn out again to prevent that. Over 92% of the Navajo Nation voted Democrat in 2020, with the elders taking horses to outside polling places to socially distance.

Plenty resilient over here, thanks. But you might think about broadening your definition of American.

What has Vance accomplished in his 2 yrs as a senator? How is he qualified in case Trump becomes too incoherent or incapable to rule?

At 78 years and obese, I want my VP to have had some experience. When Kamala came in she’d already had years of DA and attorney general experience as well as being a senator.

Again, Maga are not serious people.

No, I think he’s already posturing for 2028. He’s still pretty young so he could jump in for the next presidential election. He just needs to keep his name out in the public outside of Florida.

If Trump is as good as he says he is, he will keep Vance and work with what he's got.
If he is scared and weak, he will replace with a Stronger candidate but then Trump looks like a fool.
