PP here. Until about a month ago I thought the same thing. But the far left, ignorant protests and embrace of Hamas has really given me pause. These are violent, anti semitic rioters. And they feel they have a home with the squad under the false narrative of social justice. If the Republican Party wasn’t completely full of MAGA nut jobs who threatened the constitution and overturned roe v wade, I would probably consider voting R for the first time in my life. Both extremes on the right and the left are ignorant and dangerous. |
To clarify, I would still vote for biden. Love him. Good values and a good person. Moderate politics. |
This is harder and harder to get away with, particularly given U.S. policy in places like Cuba and Venezuela. The China-Russia block is going to be relentless in pushing back against America’s old bad habits. That the American elite is stuck in a decades-old paradigm is playing with fire. |
Who has embraced Hamas? And I don’t mean 20 something nobodies with zero life experience, I mean real people. |
I’m the PP you’re replying to and in my lifetime I just have not seen Israel act appropriately toward Gazans. The Jewish people experienced genocide in a manner that no one else has; I simply do not understand why as a nation they then turn around and are fine with genocide against Palestinians. And I still haven’t seen the other PP (who claims to be a moderate Democrat who will now vote for DeSantis! Totally believable and sane) share quotes from people in the party. Not anonymous randos on the internet, but real people. |
I am Jewish and I agree - and I also think that Israel has every right to defend itself in this war against Hamas. |
AOC has spoken out against anti-semitism and shown support for Israel. She really is different from some of the other far left reps. She is a lot more nuanced, reasonable, and mainstream. |
The extremes on the left are just that, extremes. The extremes on the right are central tenets of the new GOP. You cannot justify equating the two. |
PP here. I’m not sure about that. It seems like every new Democrat elected to the house is a progressive replacing a moderate. And I’m not liking what I’m seeing from the growing squad. Like I said, until a month ago, I thought exactly as you do- the squad makes me uncomfortable but it’s a radical extreme, and extremism is more mainstream in the GOP. But what’s happening on college campuses is not just the 20 somethings. It’s hundreds of rabid professors. It’s all the terrorism deniers and sympathizers and justifiers over on the Gaza war board. And it’s a problem for democrats, who need every win they can get for control of congress. I am at a point where I cannot bring myself to vote for Jamal bowman again. I will certainly be voting against him if he is primaried and very sincerely hope he his. |
Lol like you are democrat. |
Spoken like a true progressive. You are a disease to the party. |
Wtf, they sent thousands of all ethnicities to gulag. Not just Jewish |
DP. It’s intimately up to the countries to decide. They are all watching what’s happening to Ukraine. It’s not smart to be against a large and somewhat powerful neighbor (not sure how much power is left now, but I think Putin can still throw a bomb or two on a country he perceived as a slight to him). It’s not right, it shouldn’t be like that but … |
Planning on voting for Dean Philips. Trump is deplorable but I don’t think Biden is with it anymore. I also don’t agree with anything he has done…Ukraine, Israel etc. I also hate that he is still against expanding the size of the Supreme Court. |
You guys get that you’re not remotely believable with this stuff, right? Ping ponging from RFK to DeSantis (!) to Phillips, whose first campaign event went tragically according to the Washington Post. But sure sure. You’re all Democrats who just so happen not to care about any policies that will die if a Republican gets into office. |
