Why are you guys so desperate to defend them? I'm genuinely curious - I don't see any other thread about any other celebrity get people who defend them so zealously. This is an anonymous chat board. I find it fun to take a few minutes of my life to snark on these objectively annoying yet entertaining rich people who have no bearing on my life.

I think it is a reaction to the posters that do the opposite. The animosity some posters on this board and, apparently, others have is mind boggling.

This narrative really needs some history and nuance. The BRF did not invent racism, slavery or colonialism. These things have existed since the birth of races and nations, including in Africa, and it did not begin or end with the BRF. Slavery in particular has been a part of human life since the beginning of written history (read the Bible) and still flourished today even without the BRF’s support.

The BRF is the institution that encouraged and profited from slavery. They believe they’re anointed by God to rule the empire simply because they have that royal lineage- that same connection to kings and queens of the past who made really bad choices. King Charles commissioned a study to see just how bad it was.

So yeah. It’s not a stretch to say there’s racism there.

No one here is defending H&M. What people are pushing back against is the unusual fixation people have for disparaging and ridiculing Meghan. This fixation is not normal.

It’s also not normal to stage a paparazzi chase , put out an exaggerated press release for attentions, and purposefully try to trigger your husbands PTSD by attempting to create a situation that parallels how his mother died.

There was significantly less hate for Harry before he married Meghan. He got away with A LOT (think nazi costume) with relatively little negative publicity.
