I just read an article that investigators are pointing to gaming and the dark internet subculture as the source of that indoctrination. Even Cox recently made that reference. It doesn’t seem unlikely that they misunderstood the nature of the radicalization early on by thinking in conventional terms (investigators probably understood). Hopefully the poster who was celebrating yesterday about wasting “350 pages” on the topic sticks around.

People stood by and did nothing as he went after what they thought were their common enemies, whether socialists, trade unionists, jews, etc, but then when Hitler came after them there weren't enough people in opposition left to help stop Hitler.

Statistically, there is very little chance this guy was on the left. Left wing political violence is more likely to be property crime. Right wing political violence is more likely to involve guns and murder.

But just like they want us to believe the statistically improbable outcome of sweeping the battleground states, they want us to believe this because it serves their agenda.

In my experience (family and friends) this is less and less true of evangelicals. The political identity has taken primacy over the religious, and my evangelical family members who used to decry Mormons and Catholics don't do that anymore, because they see them as conservative. There's data out there on how evangelicals increasingly have non-orthodox religious views and attend church less often, but maintain their conservative political identity.
