Yeah. Y’all get bullied out of that combo no matter what. Affirmative action it is.

As it should be. There are better candidates who would play well in the Midwest who are also women.

Mike Duggan is sneaky smart. Looks like a stocky schmuck but he’s so damn clever and politically astute. First white guy elected to mayor of 90% black Detroit in 50 years?

Since he specified woman of color for the SC (maybe Ketanji Jackson, who was under consideration for the last opening?) my guess is he's already decided on Klobuchar for VP. It's a smart, safe choice though progressives will be unhappy with it.

It's Klobuchar. It's got to be Klobuchar. Dear Lord let it be Klobuchar.

Something is up with Liz Warren not endorsing him and laying low, right? Connected folks in Michigan are whispering Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has been vetted and is on the short list.

Every short list I've seen has her in the top 5. I think Klobuchar has earned it and would be a smart pick, but I like Whitmer better.

Mark.my.words.

Then it is Trump in 2021

If that woman is anywhere near the presidency, the Dems are sunk

Who are these delusional Klobuchar boosters? “She’s earned it.” With what? Who wanted her? Biden might not pick Warren, but good grief, she was the one that most people listed as the person they’d want in office if they had a magic wand and could make it so.

Warren is a non-starter. Even a political novice understands that a presidential candidate has to consider the makeup of Congress. MA has a Republican governor and even though Charlie Baker is a moderate Republican, the party will make sure that he appoints a Republican replacement for Warren should she leave the Senate to take the VP nom. And even if he appoints a moderate Republican, that person will likely vote with the Republicans in the Senate (turning it to 54-44-2). This appointment would last until the end of the term in 2024. Since MA would normally elect a Democrat, that would be terrible for any Democratic president, just turning the seat red for the entire first term of the president. Biden needs Warren to stay in her seat for his first term. She will be a huge advocate in the US Senate for a Democratic president.

Can you see Julie Louie Dreyfus playing Gretchen Witmer on SNL (as the VP)? That would be great!

^^^This. Although I think the special election would be a lot sooner than 2024 based on what happened to Ted Kennedy’s seat.

Who knows what would come up even in a matter of months? I agree it's too risky. Warren would definitely be no. 1 if it were possible and strategic. But I'm fine with Klobuchar because midwest swing state appeal will be a top consideration.

...and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has now baited Trump into attacking her on Twitter.

How did she bait him? I don’t see any reference to him on her Insta(?)
