Except they are not. They are a joke; to them financial independence means giving up 5% of the funding they are given. The other 95% is from their father; and that estate is tied to him being the Prince of Wales. Frogmore Cottage was renovated with taxpayer money, so they should be paying that back. Even Harry's trust is his mother's money, and SHE got that from her divorce settlement from Charles. They are not financially independent whatsoever and have no plans of being so. |
I don't understand this point. What exactly is Lord Christopher Geidt going to do to them? |
Diana received $18 million in cash from her divorce settlement, free access to her entire apartment and offices in Kensington Palace, drivers/chauffeurs/household staff when in residence in the UK, and had a billionaire for a boyfriend. If that's broke...where do I sign up? |
It's hard to truly know. When you are raised in a dysfunctional family with no role models for healthy relationships, it is hard to make future relationships work. Her family seemed pretty crazy. The royals are known to be pretty crazy. It's hard to break out of dysfunction. She may be part of the problem due in part to her upbringing, but I doubt she is the entire problem. People just looooove a good scapegoat though. |

Lord Geidt was forced out in a coup by Andrew and Charles 3 years ago...so. https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1225067/royal-news-prince-charles-queen-elizabeth-ii-forced-out-sir-christopher-geidt-spt |
Huh? Fergie is not Diana. |
|
The Queen brought him back last year. |
Do you need to be a citizen for say, to own a summer house, in the Canadian Rockies? If so, MM would hold 3 passports - US, UK, and Canada? Of hate to be her tax accountant. |
Oh, I'm sorry I thought you were talking about Diana. Yeah, Fergie got the shaft. Only a $1 million as a divorce settlement, no housing, and disgraced because of the toe-sucking incident. She also had no jobs prior to joining the family and no relevant experience. A joke. |

This thread has officially gone too far and Jeff should shut it down. Are you really advocating for some "secret agent" type to essentially take out two members of the royal family? You are insane.

Wait - WHAT? That must have gone over like a lead balloon with Charles/Andrew. Why didn't he stop that ridiculous pedophile interview from airing on national television? |
If that's what they want, then they need to give up their royal titles AND the funding, including the 95% of the funding from their father they have not given up. This is money used by Charles to support his royal duties; I imagine neither Charles or the British public will appreciate those two clowns to using that money to be celebrities. |
According to that article from Jan 7th 2020 - he is not in fact back. So where's the source? Many royal watchers have noted that Geidt would have been a useful trusted aide at the Queen’s side to navigate the recent fall-out from Prince Andrew’s disastrous Newsnight interview. It still remains unclear whether Her Majesty knew about the Duke of York’s use of Buckingham Place to film the much-criticised interview with Emily Maitlis, and indeed whether the Queen gave her approval for the decision at all. Speaking to Express.co.uk, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams commented: “With the Duke of Edinburgh standing down in 2017 and the Queen having lost her Private Secretary Sir Christopher (now Lord Geidt) in the same year, the Queen had few close aides and could not have known what was to happen when access was granted for the interview to take place at the Palace. “It has been an acknowledged train wreck of Krakatoan proportions. |
