Funny how businessmen want their money. 3 kids per age group adds up to 18 extra players or a full extra team's worth of income for the new gym. Who is going to leave around $36,000 on the table? |
If we are talking DA, half the teams were already at 21+. That doesn't make it any more normal, but to say that's new isn't exactly consistent. I have always respected Arlington for its small rosters and dedication to developing a core group of players. |
Another untruth. But nice try. |
My guess is more players will be rostered -have to pay to play @ St. James for use of their facilities. |
We’ll know in August when rosters are released. |
You must on be on a DA club. The costs are shared by the parents. Training, fees, fields, etc, etc...They don't ADD players because St. James would be higher to cover those costs. The training costs for the selected team would be higher, whether it is 18 or 20 or 30. Then the DA has the travel costs. These vary club to club based on number and distance of trips, chaperoned or not, etc. My understanding is the that the team will roster around 20. |
Parents, not the club pay for travel costs. Don’t presume having 21 players per team requires more trainers. 21 players is “around 20”. 21 players across 6 age groups builds in the the profit margin of a full 7th team without the need to increase staff. Enjoy playing for a bottom line numbers gym who reports back to investors. Your team will now get compared to the revenue generated by a rock climbing wall and monthly party room rentals. |
|
You also fail to understand that the St James owns the club. Each player is now their revenue stream. More players more revenue. Don’t believe that then see Washington Spirit’s Super Y and DA program for examples of how soccer clubs are run when run to generate revenue. And Spirit didn’t have the the extra costs of actually buying a club like the St James did.
I see a lot of mandatory at the St James futsal and strength and conditioning, all at extra costs of course, in your future. |
Yes, my reading comprehension is terrible. Thanks for noticing. We'll have to pull this thread as well as the FCV thread from the deep in a year. What you fail to understand is the larger picture, which NOBODY on this board has put out that I have seen (i.e. NOBODY KNOWS OR IS WILLING TO PUT OUT HERE). So you pontificating your silly notions only are a reflection of you. |
Exactly what bigger picture is there to see? A gym bought a soccer club. A gym makes money by having people pay membership dues. Buying a soccer club just bought a couple hundred captive members. It isn’t real difficult to see the angle here from the St James perspective. They aren’t changing their business model to run a soccer empire. They are doing the same thing with other sports as well. Your club is nothing more than a rock wall or a yoga studio to them now. |
Very true, sorry to disappoint. Rosters that were at 18 are now at 21+. Just because you don’t want it to be true, doesn’t mean it isn’t. |
Too bad this is anonymous would love it if these idiots would have to put their names behind this nonsense. As has been said over and over, the FCV DA will train at the STJ rarely and the costs are staying exactly the same. Anyone telling you otherwise is just fantasizing and bitter that their situation is not what they want it to be for their DC. |
+1 Someone knows at least. |
Ok. Show us the age group where this is true. Come on big mouth. |
