Soccer
| This is entirely speculation but I think FCV moving to Springfield will be a gradual multi-year process. This year they will start with the winter training. Next year it will be one/two practices a week. People will stay if they only have to make the drive once a week. This will also allow for them to recruit from that area. But I don't have a kid at FCV and so I'm just guessing based on my long life of watching soccer clubs try to make $$$ |
It should be sooner than that. They are starting to schedule DA games there and nearby. |
If they move, they will get more players from VDA and Arlington and less from Loudoun. |
nobody cares about Arlington 2008 girls anymore. First they need to win more than two games in a tournament before they can think of girls competing in ECNL/DA |
|
To all my 2008 fellow parents
If you’re planning to try out ECNL/DA which clubs are you looking at? Right now Loudoun is ranked first with U13 they seem to have a strong system and it works. BRYC is doing terrible and everyone else is in between |
One team = strong system??
|
Lol. One team winning games. Worst club in the mid atlantic last year. Zero teams in the playoffs but a “good system” |
| why does DA not have a U13 I see FCV doesn’t have a team |
It works both ways. Good teams attract players and bad team attract players. Arlington could get more player coming out because it’s a weaker DA/ECNL team vs other options. People might figure it will be easier to make the team? |
LOL - weaker... |
no 2008 team in NOVA is good enough for ECNL rn. Maybe you’ll make a team but not a team that will be winning the top dogs of NE. MA has always been a weak area |
| Agreed. All of the 2008 pre-DA and pre-ECNL teams are “above average”. They will be fighting amongst themselves to be middle of the pack in their DA or ECNL groupings |
Middle of the pack will be lucky. Look at Arlington in Wags- second flight did not advance. Loudoun at least in the top flight but did not advance. McLean disappointing discover cup. BSC won what one game in league play? Small pond with small fish. |
|
Loudoun U13 ECNL ended up strong at the expense of FCV U13 who are not as good as their older teams. Loudoun kept the core team together.
Will Loudoun 08s be different or is this a trend? |
Loudoun doesn't have the staff to build higher level teams at upper age groups. That's been the trend for years. |
