Feedback on VLC Club Lacrosse?

If you are talking about the 2025 team, they played in Young Gunz, Big 4, Hogan Summer Exposure and NXT. Those tournaments usually bring about high quality to solid teams.

If anything can be said about VLC teams and coaches. Regardless of where the team falls in the rankings, they never shy away from playing the best they can at each tournament. No sense in going to a tournament to play against "Super Lacrosse" "Flying Tigers" and "The Dingos" just so you can get a win. VLC teams always try to step up to the elite teams. Believe me as a VLC parent I've been there for a few thrashings where I wish we were playing "The Fighting Dragons" instead of Hawks or Team 91 but its just not the way you get the kids that are wanting to play in college ready for the level of play. Getting beaten badly will either be a challenge or a stop sign for kids and that is ok.

Anyone at tryouts last night? Did the Blackwolf kids come out for 22 team? Did the 24s get any of the jilted MadLax kids?

And how many 2025 Cavaliers are going to VLC?

I saw a lot of kids at tryouts and 2023 did not even hold one.

Feedback on tryouts:
24 tryouts are this weekend and you can be certain they will become a powerhouse with new additions and knowing the track record of their new coach. The 22s will likely add a few pieces that will round them out as a top team. But, guarantee BW will stay away from VLC, at every age group, so their leader can keep up his false advertising. I know VLC, TC, and Cavs have all played each other, but has VLC & BW played?

Didn’t see BW players at the 22s tryout. But a few kids from Va. private schools. 27s looked good. Did a bunch of 24s switch to another team?

BW did not play this summer and do not play in the same level of events

Not known for sure yet, but the Cavs have a big fast middie who was at the tryout and I would be very surprised if he didn’t get an invitation. I heard most of the 2025 Cavs went to DC Express, not sure why.

How did today look? Were high school kids looking good? It seems like 22s were a little weak while 23s no tryouts?) and 24s were solid this Summer.

Is there some issue with the 2023 team? I thought they were one of the stronger VLC teams

Nope. No issues.

23s had some kids come to the 22s tryout, some of them new invites and some of them kids "on the bubble" on the existing team. They are pretty strong and only looking for small additions, except they really need a second goalie (as does the 22s) as its a big ask to ride with one goalie with the amount and level of play. The 22s had a few kids that looked promising and I heard they were going to drop a few kids that just either weren't progressing in skills or attitude. Should be a fun fall for both teams.
