Really, really good.

Within VLC how would rank the teams - from Strongest (most competitive) to weakest (least competitive)?

Maybe he has seven sons, one from each age group, and wants to find a good lacrosse team for each. 🙄

Was curious because with PVI moving out to Loudoun, their geographic pull is going to be mostly Loudoun, correct? Since VLC is sort of a feeder/pipeline into PVI I was gauging people's thoughts on how PVI lacrosse will fair down the road.

High AAA, low-end Elite if you're going by Hoco divisions.

PVI moved 12 miles west - lots of VLC 24s and younger players live reasonably close but not sure how many kids are tracking to go to PVI.

How would anyone know if the 2025s are “better” or how they will do? They haven’t even practiced yet, let alone played. They will certainly be significantly different - lots of new faces.

I am not connected to the VLC 2025 team, but certainly you can tell based on tryouts if a team got better. If new players are upgrades over the incumbents, assuming the new boys accepted offers, then the team got better. You don’t need to wait for the first game to find out.

The coaches probably thought the new kids were better than the kids who got cut. But that alone really tells you nothing interesting. You might think the team is better, and assume the replacements are better, but you don’t know the team is better until you actually see them play.

High AAA, low-end Elite if you're going by Hoco divisions.

HOCO league competition committee made up of MD club directors will push back against letting VLC in elite. The 2023 team was not let in despite winning Every AAA game by more than five. This summer they faced four teams from HOCO elite lost to the top two teams by two and three goals in competitive games and beat the lower elite teams by wide margins. I think 2026 will be similiar in regards to HOCO league

Did 2026 play any teams from the 2019 Hoco Elite Division this summer?

2026 is a weird year. All the DC based teams are weaker than normal. For example, 2026 is probably NL’s weakest team at any age level and same for Madlax. Annapolis Hawks dominate this age group and the Baltimore teams are, on balance, better than the DC teams, which is actually unusual for the younger ages in recent years. (Baltimore teams catch up later typically.) VLC 2026 probably about even with BLC 2026 and Madlax 2026 for the best in the the immediate DC area, but a major down year for DC in general in this age group for whatever reason.
