As you should be able to infer from this op ed by the non-crazy members of the school board https://www.inquirer.com/opinion/commentary/central-bucks-school-district-lgbtq-bias-policy-20230118.html the school board has been taken over by right wing nuts. So them telling the librarian to take down an Elie Wiesel quote (FFS) is just more Republican fascism.

I don’t think I’m the only one who wouldn’t expect this normal suburb to have this many right wing nuts on its school board.

I’ll offer a conservative opinion. These things are hard to legislate. Ideally they wouldn’t require legislation. Of course those empty shelves weren't populated by books like "Gender Queer." Unfortunately, because people like you inexplicably disagree with common sense, there is now legislation that is grossly overreaching so that all books can be reviewed. This would be unnecessary if there was even a shred of common sense from the left, but there clearly is not. Simply removing "Gender Queer" from public school libraries would have been the obvious solution, but no. Apparently removing an obviously pornographic book from school shelves was just a bridge too far for liberals.

Not to fear though! You can still purchase this book (or check it out of the public library) and expose your own kids to pornography as much as you'd like.

Is it really that surprising to you that parents don’t want books with images of sex acts in their kids’ schools? Parents don’t want sexual content in schools. For decades that wouldn’t have even been up for discussion. You are creating all these imaginary issues when the basic fact is that parents want to stop the sexualization of children that is being pushed on them today. It’s hard enough when it’s done in the media and on the internet. It shouldn’t be coming from the adults in school.
